this one just sounds like the perfect book to buddy read! I think we'll have a lot to discuss :)

do we want to set a reading goal or just check in every 5 chapters?

I'm trying to finish up a few others books first. I'm hoping to give this one pretty undivided attention.

I finished The Angel Experiment and I'm pretty sure everyone wants to move on to book 2, so hopefully you'll join us.
Miss being on GR but my phone won't last! :)

It sounds so relaxing and so fun. I hope you enjoy the time (reading and with family! LOL!)
fingers crossed your phone holds out :)

Oh my gosh! I loved Between Shades of Gray soooooo much!!!

Oh my gosh! I loved Between Shades of Gray soooooo much!!!"
I've been meaning to get to that book!! It's been on my kindle for over a year...
What I like about this book is that it's such an interesting perspective on World War II - it's not (right now at least) about Hitler/Stalin and their persecution (a la The Book Thief, Number the Stars, etc.). It's just about a British girl captured by the enemy who is telling her own story.

starting this one :)
I have the paperback so I'm not sure about everyone else, but I don't have chapter numbers.
So I'll try to put part of the....equation thingy? to signify which chapter I'm talking about
unless anyone knows of a better way to mark the spoilers? I hate when I don't have chapters! LOL!

lol this one is pretty heavy at first...
I think her joking and lightness of her situation breaks up the other parts of her story, but this is NOT a light read so far.
I'm over 60 pages in and plan to stop at 80 something just to read something lighter!!!

YES this is really heavy. I don't think 5 chapters a day is feasible for me. I am enjoying it but it's not something I'm able to breeze through.

and this feels VERY much like (view spoiler)

Yes! There is NO speed reading this one! This one takes time and full mental capacity!

Verity is very witty and snarky, I really like her so far.
Sorry I didn't get very far, all of a sudden I got really tired and I'm about to go to sleep.

It really is a very good book and I read it in less than 12 hours. I seriously couldn't put it down! I hope you like it! :)

and I think I understand why the story is told the way it is ;)
anyone else picking up on it?

Just to clarify (view spoiler)
I still like it so far, it's interesting to see the history of what was happening during that time and also heartbreaking at the same time. I'm so anxious to see how it ends, I'm really scared for Verity and the outcome.

I can't really say anything else lol
but I think the next chapter will surprise you :)

Ok I haven't hit that spoiler yet, I'm trying to finish my movie night book and I'm watching "Safe Haven" with my husband and daughter, but I'm for sure going to get back to this tonight!! :)

simply amazing. What a wonderful book.
I can't wait to see as you go along what you think!
Keep me posted!

Ok I looked at your spoilers, I couldn't take it anymore!!! lol :p
I'm the same way, always looking for motives or fretting out the bad guy! I agree with you on everything!! They have to be clues, (view spoiler)

lol!!
the first 1/2 is really world building and setting the stage.
the 2nd half, you will fly through. it will answer all our questions! I can't wait! EEEEEE!!! :D I think you will LOVE this book!!!

The only reading I'm getting done is early morning and late night. Lol Oh, and in the car!
My visit with Lee Fullbright was amazing!!! I'm so glad Heather got to meet her too. We spent from 11-12:30 or so in her home and (can you believe this) talked BOOKS!!! Lol And editing, and her new book she's working on. Lee is adorable!!!! Anyway then we went to a Mexican restaurant, the same as last year, and sat and talked until after 3:00. What a lovely, positive human being she is. Lots of laughs too!!! We're definitely going to see each other again!!!

what a blessing this time is!
sounds like you have at least a week left! How wonderful! Meh, reading sounds pretty 2nd place to handing out with grand kids!!! LOL! Especially when you get to the 19 of them! LOL! I hope they distract and exhaust you from every book you brought ;P I bet they will! Have fun!
