Your main edition doesn't have an ISBN?

If you want to make the new cover default: http://www.goodreads.com/help#default_ed

Jayne | 4 comments I have now added my ISBN, thanks for pointing that out :)

Thanks for the rest of your help.

Jen Minkman (jenminkman) | 21 comments Despite myself being a librarian, I am being told by Goodreads I have no right to change the cover of my own book because only librarians can do that. :( What's wrong with Goodreads these days??
Anyways, here's the cover I need for the English edition (please don't touch the Chinese edition, that will keep the old cover with Chinese characters)

And this is the book:

I hope someone else WILL be able to help me. This is frustrating to say the least.

Emy (emypt) | 5037 comments Hi Jen,

As an author you have limited Librarian rights, which specifically does not include changing covers. The is because we don't change covers on records, instead we create Alternate Cover Editions. I will create the editions now.

Once the new editions are created and combined with the older ones, you as author can set the a new one as Primary edition.

Check posts #3 & #4 Here for more information.

hey! thanks :) That's weird though... I thought I changed the cover for the same book a few weeks ago myself (since I'd changed the font I used back then)... but hey, I'll patiently await the alternate cover edition. Will you combine the books or will I have to do that?

Emy (emypt) | 5037 comments ACE created for the paperback edition as requested: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/17... - if you go into the Edit screen for this copy you can now set it as Primary (use the instructions in post #4 in the thread linked earlier).

Please let me know if there needs to be ACEs created for any other formats.

In response to your other question. We do not delete out-of-print or otherwise no longer available editions. It is permissible to add a short note to the existing description to show that this is no longer available. The reasoning for this is that we are akin to a library, and that readers want to shelve that which they own, regardless of whether it is currently purchasable.

As an aside, if you had managed to change the covers previously, then that change would have been reverted as soon as it was spotted as being against policy. If you need ACEs set for any other titles at a later date, just start a new thread in this folder and we'll get onto it :)
