It is written by a journalist who had been researching the title person and the way her cervical cancer cells were used without consent. The human side of things is dealt with in a logical and sympathetic way whilst the scientific side is in easy to follow terms for the non-medically minded. It is what lead to the informed consent form we all know today, and have to sign before any invasive medical procedure.
I am thoroughly enjoying my retirement with time to do the things I enjoy, like reading and taking my dog for walks to try to stop the pounds from piling on the hips!!

One of my favorites is "Sing a Sad Song," about Hank Williams, also written by a man named Williams, though I have not found this available yet. Also, biographies of Charles Ives, the maverick composer, and Sammy Davis Jr. ("Yes I Can") and Malcolm X (with Alex Haley) stand out in my memory. There are so many!
Hi my name is Helga Cohen and I live in Sc. I am a Chemist and love to read. I am an avid reader of World War II books as my father was a soldier at the Battle of the Bulge in Germany and liberator of Dachau concentration camp. And at 90 he is just now starting to talk about what it was like during this awful time. I am very interested in learning everything about it.
