A Memory of Light
question
So it is really, really over? or is there more?

At the end of the book, _____ is still alive and so is _________ (one of the Forsaken). Is there a possiblility of future follow-up books? After all, it was "AN ending" but not "THE ending."

Very doubtful there will be any further books. Sanderson and Jordan's wife have both stated they feel it would be an exploitation of the legacy to have any additional books.
There is supposed to be an encyclopedia coming out, but there is almost zero chances of any future canon books.

True. Good point, but it seems intentionally left open to possible new threads..or maybe it just seems that way to me. And I have read several other series that should have been ended but kept on going just for the sales. Terry Brooks and Raymond Feist for example. Well, maybe not with not with Robert Jordan's story. We'll see
I've read that Robert Jordan had planned several sequels (one of which would have followed Mat and Fortuona), but those projects died with him, I'm afraid.
A SEQUEL WITH MAT? NO WHY DID HE HAVE TO DIE. THIS IS ACTUALLY PAINFUL.
It was really awesome, but a sequel would just be too much. I mean, they won! What else is there to talk about? anything more would feel forced.
Akivac, I agree with you that a sequel shouldn't be done. It would probably not be good at all and would detract from a truly great story.
I just couldn't help feeling like there was a purpose behind leaving ONE of the forsaken still alive. Or maybe I'm just being a little OCD; part of me can't stand that there's still a bad guy out there who could eventually cause trouble.

There is something written by Sanderson with the POV of Demandred. "River of Souls' it is titled and published in "Unfettered". It was the deleted piece from AMol. Interesting and good; though completely Sandersonish / nothing like Jordan in it.
I'm completely satisfied knowing the series is complete. As has already been mentioned both Sanderson and Harriet have said there will be no more.
Regarding the fact that some characters survived or some plot lines were left dangling, Jordan said it would only be right to end in this manner because it mimics life accurately.
Sanderson did an incredible job finishing the series. I'm truly grateful for that. However little by little I was hearing more of Sanderson's voice than Jordan's. I'd not care to read any more for fear that it would be MUCH more Sanderson than Jordan. I enjoy reading Sanderson but prefer it to be his own stories from now on.

I felt the ending left little room for sequels and I hope it remains the case. The entire 13 book series was geared around achieving the single goal of dealing with the Dark One. I do however look forward to the promised encyclopedia as a hopefully better, more extensive (and better illustrated) version of "Robert Jordan's A Wheel of Time" book.
