For a second she was gonna laugh with him and make it all seem like just a practical joke, but if she backs out now she'll go crazy. Her motives might be selfish, but love is selfish anyway.
She shook her head slightly smiling at the sound of his laughter though she knows it's a cover. She should've thought this plan of hers through! What if his brain cracks completely? She tried to push that thought away "Amnesia is no big deal Jax, weren't you starting over alright without knowing?" Yeah until you ruined things for him!

Laughter dying he looked at her with a grave eye. "What you're saying, Vee, is impossible. I would have known and felt things if it was all true." Jax said as he crossed his arms over his chest. He was feeling something alright, it had been there the moment he woke up in the basement and it had gotten worse whenever Vee was close. "No offense but how can I believe it if you don't have any proof?" He asked as he pondered the things she had said to him back at Crackers. Things weren't just adding up to him and they were indeed words that doesn't make sense to him at all when he thought of it.

Vee didn't consider that he might need proof. Idiot! Of course he needs proof, you would if you lost your memories and someone just came saying some nonsense! She sighed "I don't have proof Jax, apart from your jersey that's in my room there's nothing" she said remembering that it's still lying on her bed "You can ask anyone who lives here, including your brother" Maybe she should let him think his way around or maybe she should make him not believe her and be a liar. It would be a great way to push him away. "You don't have to believe me at all, but I had to tell you"

Jax sighed deeply at the look of pure sadness in her eyes. He might not believe her but something was telling him that they were true. That he indeed had amnesia and couldn't remember anything. "Wait...you're telling me that I am the guy we're talking about? The one who left you?" He asked as his voice gotten louder. Why hadn't she said anything about that? It has been days since he had woke up from the basement and all this time he was the one in the dark.

Vee chuckled "So the fact that you've got amnesia is okay?" She sat on the grass crossing her legs "you did leave me, but you were practically going crazy and somehow you were trying to save me from you something like that" she eyed his reaction with amusement. She felt lighter after telling him, let's hope it doesn't backfire.

Jax followed her lead and sat beside her. "Having amnesia is just a small thing compared to having a girl like you fall in love with a guy the likes of me." He admitted with a shrug. For some reason his anger had dissipated and he was left with surprise and anguish that he had hurt her. Gazing at her more intently he asked her, "Was I really going crazy?" He didn't touch the love part since it was all new to him but looking at Vee right now he could find himself having a relationship with her.

Vee looked at him intently, he keeps on surprising her. He keeps seeing himself unworthy and then he says something like that. She wishes she can somehow convince him that he's not a bad guy, not even a bit. "I'm not sure if crazy is the word for it" she said thoughtfully remembering how the days would pass like hell "You blocked your emotions and was cold for a while, then you started to snap out of it, but then you'd bleed like hell whenever I'm around. Then you lost all your memories of me and only me. Then you started to remember, then poof all memories were lost. I think your brain got fried" she said catching her breath and giggling a little. She knew she was lying about the last bit where Quin fried his brain but at least he's no longer in the dark.

Jax smiled a little and carefully digested how her words really affected him. Although he was not remembering her, he can feel the connection with her and it was comforting because he was getting a little nervous. "Vee? Tell me the truth...did we do it?" He asked softly as he shifted a little closer to her. Not that he was afraid of her answer but some part of him wanted to know if they had taken their relationship to the next level. Seeing her flushed look and after a moments hesitance he gently laid a hand on her warm cheek. His thumb was already running circles as he added, "I just want to know because it would mean I was a bastard for ever wiping my memories and for the things I have done to you."

Vee raised her hand to put it on his but then hesitated and let it fall back to her side. "No" she smiled flushed, not from embarrassment but from joy. It's a good thing they didn't so at least he doesn't have one more thing to blame himself for. Clearing her throat and gaining a little control over herself "Jax, just to make things clear. Me telling you this, doesn't mean I expect you to jump into a relationship or bed with me" she said looking the other way. "Don't feel like you have to make things right" because she doesn't want a pity boyfriend she thought but refrained from adding.

Jax took back his hand and with real smile this time he said, "I won't." He may have been nervous awhile ago but it was replaced by something close contentment. Her words had lifted something in his mind and even if he didn't know what hat is he was still relieved that it was now gone. Clearing his throat, "Just to be sure if you ever want us to be more than friends I promise you that this time it will be different." He said to her with sincerity.

She didn't reply to that, because of course she wants to be more than friends and the promise he's making isn't exactly easy to keep in his case. She really meant what she said though, she won't ask him for more than friendship unless he wants it too. He just met her a couple of days ago after all. " One last thing" she wasn't exactly thrilled to say it, but she wants to get all this over with "Leah lives here now. Or at least is supposed to. Do you remember her?" She knew he did, but a girl can hope no matter how selfish that hope is.

"Leandra?" He asked just as his mind flashed a girl with dark hair. He frowned and tiled his head to the side, his hair getting messier than usual. "I remember her but I'm surprised that she's here." He admitted with shock. It's been months since they had talk and it was a greater shock than knowing that he had lost his memories. Although a part of him had already known that Vee was his...okay he needs to stop thinking this because it was creeping himself out that he had this bond with another woman after June. And second it was kind of scary that he can feel like this with a girl he was now friends with regardless of what happened in the past.

"Well she came to visit you, you tampered with her head. Hunter offered her a place here to protect her. I think he has a thing for her" she said frowning. She didn't trust Leah much, someone who can so easily walk away is untrustworthy, but she continued narrating Jax's life back to him. "Anyway, she disappeared when you left and I believe she's been shagging some mystery guy" she knew the last part was unnecessary but she couldn't help it. She was Jealous from the girl since day one.

He nodded and he detected of some kind of hatred under her words but he didn't say anything about this time. From last time he had seen her he fancied being in love with her but comparing it to what his unknown feelings are for Vee it might as well be puppy love. "I'm sure she's somewhere with a guy and I trust her to find the right guy for her." Hunter has a thing for Lea? Well that was not interesting since he knew that Lea has a beauty and personality that can attract any guy in town.

"You know her better" she said shrugging. She suddenly felt warm, the weather in Daggers Vill didn't go by season. It kind of has a brain of it's own and keeps shifting. "I'll go change now" she said standing quickly not giving him a chance to object. "Hunter's V-neck isn't exactly comfortable" shit. She didn't mean to tell Jax that it was Hunter's T-shirt but she continued anyway "Can you order food? For Your brother, Stefan and yourself. You didn't eat much at crackers" she hurried up the steps to the mansion happy that she finally has all this weigh lifted of her chest.

He shouldn't be jealous but what can a guy do when a girlfriend you have just known was wearing another guy's shirt? "Sure." He nodded with a smile as he walked the few steps to her front. Impulsively kissing her on the cheek, "Wear something nice for me, will you?" He requested as he winked at her. Now that he know that she will not slap him if he said any of this, it was refreshing that he can do this. Something tells him that his shock would erupt if Vee left but he needed to handle this by himself if he can learn to remember the past.

Vee's eyes widened as he kissed her chick but she couldn't help bur feel amused. He wants her to wear something nice? "Oh you're gonna regret that" she said her eyes full of mischief as she disappears into the mansion. She had no idea what to wear, but she was sure a shower wouldn't do any harm as well.

"Am I?" He asked himself and just lime that his situation came falling on him. Sitting on the grass he thought of the words Vee had said about the 'guy' who lost his memories and had left her. He winced when it was him she was talking about and he remembered her saying about that the 'guy' hadn't returned her feelings of love and this time his jaw clenched. What had he done to her? He shouldn't be taken with her story so fast but there were some instances that he knows this town and the people in it more than he can ever remember.

Vee took a quick shower and changed into high wasted shorts and a crop top that revealed more than it covered. Before she went to find Jax she decided to throw a shirt over her the top to spare his nerves. She checked the common room but he wasn't there so she went back to the field looking for him. The grave look on his face made her uneasy, she knew it was much to take in and considered to leave him alone for a bit but he noticed her already "So I get that you didn't order the food now did you?" She said standing in the doorframe of the mansion.

Leaving the thoughts untouched he smiled at Vee with a fleeting regret. He asked himself why had he wiped his memories but it all giving him a massive headache that he didn't want to experience. "Sorry. Just got a little distracted." He told her as he stuffed his hands in his pockets. He was embarrassed that she had found him like this but what can he do? Act like everything's alright? Sighing he now looked at Vee's attire. Gone was the baggy look and in its place was...okay no words can describe her clothes but it both seductive and sexy to him. "I see that you have gotten my suggestion to dress nice," he told in a voice that had suddenly gone husky.

The way he looks at her as if she's the prettiest thing he's seen makes her uncomfortable and makes her heart swell. "I was thinking of something nicer but then we're in the house, it would be a waste of an outfit" she said teasing him. It was true, she considered much better looks, but if she starts dressing up for Jax he might feel pressured. Staying at the top of steps so she doesn't touch him, even though she's touchy feely with all her guy friends. "Are you okay? I can come back later" she said eyeing him making sure to keep seduction to a minimum.

He can feel the way her gaze touch him and he was feeling adamant not to pull her down and kiss her. Again and this time it would more than just on the cheek. "No it's okay. I was just thinking how stupid I am to ever erase my memories of you," he whispered because for some unknown reasons he was regretful and guilty. Her outfit had cause a myriad of unwelcome feelings inside of him but he intend to keep it all in. Brushing his hair back he gestured to her, "What about you? Do you need some alone time?"

Vee was surprised by his offer, no one has ever asked her if she needs space. Hunter was always there no questions asked, Stefan too before he went to Rehab. She has a feeling they don't leave her alone intentionally because she may turn on her phsyco and things would get ugly. "No, it's better if I'm not left alone" she said smiling then scolding him "and for heaven's sake Jax you didn't erase your memories. You've got amnesia! Big difference" not really though because if Quin hadn't volunteered Jax probably would've asked him to. "Plus it's way too quiet in there, this place is never quiet" she said starting to worry about Stefan.

He wondered about that too. Ever since he had waken up in that basement, he can literally hear anyone through the wall but right now it was shocking to hear nothing at all. Although he was content to talk with Vee right her because the cool air was making him calmer than usual. "It doesn't change the fact that I had hurt you, didn't I?" He said in a soft voice just as another breeze blew his hair again. This was just getting ridiculous but her words comforted him that she didn't want to be alone. Reminding himself that he should at least act like he was not affected by her presence he continued on, "As your friend, I promise you that I won't ever hurt you."

"Good" she said walking towards him. There's no point arguing, because it was true. He did hurt her, but there's no point in making him feel worse now. Leaning down locking his eyes with her she hit him. Yes it was his shoulder but she was making a point "You better remember that promise because next time, it'll be your pretty face" she said smiling because she knew he's not threaten at all, just shocked. "Now get your ass up and let's see if your brother killed my best friend"

Jax smiled and he caught her hand, twining their fingers together. "Friends hold hands right?" He asked her with mirth in his eyes. He was itching for any contact with her and this was the tamest he could think of. He wished that he can remember her but it a blank slate in his mind and it was no longer important because he can create new memories with Vee right her, right now.

"Mine do" she said letting him take her hand. "Now wanna bet that they're biting each other's head some where?" She said the irony lost to her. Stefan was hot headed though not generally an angry person. Quin however was a ball of furry walking around. If those two are fighting, then it's not gonna be a pretty sight.

"Sure but I don't think thats a good idea."He told her as he led her inside the mansion. He had heard a loud thump on the left and he was now curious to what Stefan and Quin was doing. Not that it was his business but now having his brother there, he wanted to know what his twin was about.

Jax with Vee beside him was back at the field where she had told him everything. "Vee? Can you tell me what's going on between you and Stefan?" He asked as he looked at her in the eye. He needed to find out if he was too late, that somebody else had already been there for her when his memory was wiped. He saw the way they acted back there and if Vee was happy then he can at least be happy for her.

Vee almost chocked! Is that what he thought? That Stefan was hitting on her or something? She almost snorted but held it in "Stefan is one of my best friends, which is a lot more physical than usual best friends may be. I love him so very much but not like, umm not like that love? Does that make sense?" She said because she was about to say not like I love you. She was never a girlfriend material so her friends usually ended up sleeping with her, but the was nothing emotional about it.

He hadn't realized that he was holding his breath until he released it. What she said had caused something in him to lift the heavy hold around him. Smiling at her as he wound his arm around her shoulders so that he can bring her closer to him. "I shouldn't have asked you that question but I just want you to be happy with someone else since all I ever did was hurt you even more." He whispered beside her ear, their closeness making it more intimate than usual.

Vee looked up at his face "When will you get it through your thick skull that I don't want to be happy with someone else?" She whispered back. She promised that she wouldn't push him but she needed to know if there's ever a chance for them because she's tired of holding her breath. She leaned against his chest not exactly waiting for an answer, She doesn't want him to be with her because he feels guilty that he hurt her.

He silently gasped at her words. Was she possibly thinking of having another relationship with him? If it was, well maybe he can learn to forgive himself even though the past seemed like a dream to him right now. He looped his arm around her waist with a shaking hand while his other hand pulled her closer. "Will you be happy with me?" He whispered as he gently caressed her hair.

"No Jax, will YOU be happy with me?" Because she can see the guilt in his eyes that's driving him not love. She caressed his face gently "I'll be happy with you, with all your drama and baggage I still want to be with you, but not because you're sorry for hurting me before" she said looking him in the eyes then closing hers, she knew from day one this wasn't going to end well for her. That's why she steered away from relationships all her life.

Jax leaned onto her touch and he was this close to say yes but she was right to question him. "I will be but there are things that holds me back from having you as my girlfriend." He told her truthfully, bring his has hand upon hers. Maybe it was fate that made him wipe his memories over and over again but he didn't like it if it hurts the people in his life. "I'm going to try to be a better person not just for you but for myself. Please give me some time to do it, Vee." He whispered and he was this close to crying and hell no was he crying. He wasn't at all taken by his emotion in the past but now...it seems to him that everything was about to change.

"Jax, do whatever's best for you. If you want me to stay away I will. Try at least" she said grinning. It really was nonsense because even if they don't think they're together. They are. In some twisted way he is her boyfriend and he was jealous of Stefan. So what's the point in all this she didn't know. But she was wiling to give him one more chance. But this is it. "Now you know everything you need to know, so don't mess up again. I'm going in to look for Stefan I need to talk to him. Are we okay?" She asked standing up still holding his hand.

He nodded and he he followed her lead so that he can do what he had been thinking about the first time he had woken up in that basement. Taking her face in his shaking hands he kissed her. Making it sweet and light, he put all of his feelings in that kiss. He pulled back just as her arms came i contact with his. "Were better than okay, I think." He told her with a grin.

Vee was stunned, she didn't see that one coming and she couldn't help the stupid grin on her face "asshole" she said as she leaned in to kiss him back. Oh she's missed this so bad she never wants to let go of his lips ever, but eventually she had to come up for air. "Come on let's get inside I'm starving" she said mischievously as she pulled him behind her because she was starving for more than food.

Jax grinned at Vee's back and he held on her hand tighter. "Bitch," he said affectionately as he brought her hand to his face so that he can kiss it. If this was how they were back while hey were dating, he couldn't wait what will happen to them in then future but enough about it, it’s time to focus on the now and that was Vee in front of him. No more of June and the past he thought.

Hunter followed Kalia out to the field. He sat down on the steps pulling her next to him. If she decided to go home, he couldn't blame her really, Vee treated her like shit and he wasn't doing a much better job himself. "What's up" he said casually and braced himself for what's to come.

Hunter sighed in relief that she wasn't leaving but he still had no idea what to do "Umm, how do you feel about a casual relationship? Like uhh in-exclusive? Does that work for you?" he really wished this wasn't hurting her feelings. But at least it was a step, baby steps is the answer as Bernard always said. And maybe he would want more in time, maybe.

He smiled up at her, she really did like him. No girl in her right mind would agree to that, but Kalia was not like most girls. Not the ones he know anyway. "How can I say no? But are you sure you want this Kalia? You deserve better than a part-time relationship" he said honestlyl, because she does. He looked into her eyes and felt the need to kiss her so bad, but waited for her answer. For her to be sure about this thing they were doing.

He leaned in and kissed her, hard and slowly. Putting his arms around her waist and pulling her closer to him he didn't break their kiss. He was so happy as if it's his first kiss, it was unsettling but he was too lost in her touch to care. When he had to eventually come up for air his breathing heavy "You're probably right, I can't keep my hands off you. How can I?" He said as he kissed her once again quickly.

Hunter groaned "I don't think they even noticed that we left" but he got up anyway because it was getting chilly outside and Kalia was dressed lightly. Plus he needed to show her where she's sleeping, since Leah didn't exactly leave he can't give Kalia the major guest room "When do you have to go back to school?" He asked so he can make the sleeping arrangements.
