Samantha | 2 comments Hi,

I read this book 5-10 years ago. It was a paperback, maybe 200-300 pages. Told from the point of view of different characters. Here is a summary of what I remember:

In the normal world, the town places a curfew for teenagers because there have been a lot of kidnappings at night. A portal would appear and a giant/beast/thing would come out and take a teenager with them back to their magic world to work as a slave. This was about to happen to the girl when a guy soldier from the magic world appeared and saved her. The soldier had her go home and wiped her memory. The girl and soldier met again in her backyard and she remembered him when he allowed her to. Eventually the girl does get kidnapped and is brought to a castle. She is held by a magician/king/sorcerer and finds out that he is her father. Even though she wants to escape, she plays along and learns how to use her father's magic powders. She tries to escape and the soldier along with his friends help her. One of the magic powders allows her to "fly" around the land and see what is going on. If she were to mix them, it would be catastrophic.

That's all I remember. Hope that helps!

THANKS! :)

No, that is not it. It did not have anything to do with dragons. Thanks anyways though! I love Bryan Davis, he is a great author!

No response from Samantha but this does sound like the right book. Moving to Solved.
