jaxnsmom | 8341 comments What did you think of The Space Between Us? It must have been my mood when I read it, but I think it emotionally scarred me.

I read Message from an Unknown Chinese Mother: Stories of Loss and Love by Xinran for my X book. Now I'll have to read The Good Women.

Amanda Bilney | 288 comments I found 'The Space Between us' quite disturbing also... they all had so much sadness, and very little positive in their lives. I think the non-happy ending also left me wondering how all their lives turned out also, and kept me thinking about it longer than i normally would.

I liked 'The Good Women of China' but again it left me feeling quite upset that so many women around the world still can't have dreams and ambitions...

Thanks! School holidays are almost over, and this term is end of year reports (I'm a teacher) so I will read a heap while I procrastinate about what I have to get done, but then I will have to actually do some work. But our Christmas break starts in mid December so I may actually get through the second one too with some luck :-)

My New Year's resolution was to read some more 'grown up' books and memoirs. I have liked most of them so far, although I also still like my easy reads.

Amanda Bilney | 288 comments Woohoo! On my final book to make my goal of 45 since I joined Goodreads and this group in May :-). I picked a fairly long one though, so it's a good thing I just started my Summer holidays!
