Is there any book like We need to talk about kevin ?

I saw the film adaptation of the book without knowing it's based on a novel and I was very disappointed to know that the story is a novel, even more disappointed when I knew the style of the book (that the narration is in letters I mean) So does anyone know a book similar in style or that type of drama?

Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Piccoult deals with similar themes. I haven't read it yet - it's on my long list of waiting to read books but I wanted to read it to see how she tackled the same subject. However, I can say that having read some of Jodi Piccoult's other work she usually provides a good read:)
