I'll start. My name is Michelle and I read books from all genres. When I'm not reading a book, I'm reading about reading, going to used to a used book sale, or working.
Hi my name is Jackie, Reading is my passion. I love to read books from many different genres. I always have a book in my hands, I read eBooks, audio books, and regular books. I must say I am addicted to reading, but it's okay because I know i am not the only one!
Hi - I'm Brian. I don't know whether I would call this my favourite genre, but I have read many that I like - most recently, The Hunger Games series. I have written several books in various genres, but have not yet done one in this genre. I do have one started that might fit the mold. I'm not sure when I will have enough written to share some excerpts - it's going to be a big job. In the meantime, I will monitor what people say here and see if I pick up ideas. Hello, my name is Chris. I'm from Cornwall in the UK but since 2004 I've been living in Japan (much to my mother's displeasure!) and working in a high school. I got married a couple of years ago and the wife and I are both owned by our cat, Miffy, who absolutely requires breakfast at 4am...!I also write and over the last few years I sold a bunch of stories to magazines. Last January I decided to give self publishing a try and have been moderately successful. I have one dystopian book called The Tube Riders which has got some decent reviews, and a couple of others in other genres. I can hardly believe what I've learned over the last year and to kind of pay it forward I have a blog to help new writers with both writing and the business of self publishing, because I come across a lot of strugglers and it wasn't so long ago that I was one of them.
Other things I like are hiking and snowboarding, while I play rhythm guitar and sing in a band called Steampunk Unicorn. We're awesome because we write all our own songs but playing in Japanese clubs we're largely met with indifference. I also like to bang on (as you can probably tell...!) and I really hate centipedes and biting down on those wooden lolly sticks.
Hi, my name is Shannon, and I read all kinds of things, but have a particular interest in dystopias. I am always on the lookout for dystopian novels about food/food systems, and would love to find a really great dystopian novel that takes a look at our modern food system.

I understand what you mean about the cat. We have one such occupant in our apartment and the moment I start waking up, hours before the sun is out she will be scratching on my door for breakfast!

I'm really happy you joined us Shannon. It's always nice to find more Dystopian fans. I would love to get book suggestions from you and I have one for you. You might have read it but I have found that it is a highly underrated book. I would say it is more of a apocaliptyc nature then dystopian, but it is still a good read:. Very underrated. Very realistic written.

I have read very few modern dystopian novels...most of my experience with dystopias comes from reading the classics - 1984, Brave New World, Anthem, A Handmaids Tale, the Giver....I did enjoy the Octavia Butler trilogy. I am definitely interested in expanding my horizons. As I find interesting new titles, I will pass them along!

I would love to hear your opinion after you read it. Just don't give up on the first few chapters, where all the characters are getting introduced. The book picks up the paste.
I also prefer the classical dystopias, though I have some hopes for Wool and some other non YA fictions. I have Wool sitting on my table waiting it's turn

Where in Japan do you live? I heard it's overcrowded there :)
I voted for Wool in the poll. I've heard a lot about it, and am curious. I will definitely let you know what I think of Death of Grass. It must be pretty good, because even though it seems to be out of print, paperbacks are still going for $7+ so that's a good sign!
Hi, my names Miranda. I'm rapidly becoming more and more obsessed with dystopia and would love to find more dystopia books to read (: I'll read any type of book; I used to be against ebooks but in the summer when my bf is fishing I lay at the back of the boat and read and my kindle or nook is much easier to carry! hahaha

I'm Clack, from Oregon, USA. I read many genres but have had a special place in my heart for dystopic lit since reading Fahrenheit 451 in grade 7. I'm thrilled that YA lit is trending toward dystopias right now.
I have a 16 year old son and am a counselor in a secure behavioral-health and addictions facility for teens so many of my reviews are written based on whether I think a book is right for the teen audience.
I am always willing to read and review books for new authors, as I am usually looking for good stuff to add to either my work library or my "end-of-the-world-is-neigh" bookshelf at home.

I'm big fan of using dystopian settings in sci-fi and/or speculative fiction. Pineapple and cherries are great. Jimmy Hendrix was amazing. Saw (and love) the Stones, Deep Purple, Automatics (guys from Boston and Kansas), Queensryche, Steve Winwood and many others. I like meaningful relationships and long walks on the bea-- just kidding. :)

Hi :) my name is Nina, I'm from England and I read a lot, and super fast according to what all my friends say haha. I mostly read dystopian and paranormal ya novels but I sometimes read horror and crime novels. I used to occasionally read dystopian (I think the first one was City of Ember years ago) but I really got into the genre when I read Divergent.

Hi I'm Kammy! I have really drifted toward the dystopian genre ever since i read The Giver ages and ages ago. Recently read the Divergent/Insurgent books as well. I saw the June book selection, Wool and that sealed the deal! Im in!

Well that's all I can think of for now, but I've read plenty other dystopian books.
I love dystopian books cuz it's interesting to see how life would be in the future. And a well written book would make you feel like you're living that life. I love that feeling; it's a combination of anxiety, apprehension, and determination. Anything is possible in the future, and you never know. The fate of the world may turn into the storyline of your favorite dystopian book. Now wouldn't that be interesting :)
