Hi! I’m Kat. I love reading and writing. I actually am writing a few dystopian books currently. I like Divergent, The Hunger Games, Matched, Delirium, Shatter Me, and there’s probably more. That’s also just dystopian books so…

Hey everyone! I'm Lydia - a published dystopian author and general book nerd. I'm already loving some of the discussions I'm seeing on here about the dystopian genre and I look forward to connecting with the community!!
Hi everyone! I'm Merrin. I'd prefer to live in a sci-fi dystopian universe where I'm the hi tech, gen-altered battler who always saves the day. Not possible...so I write about it instead. In my spare time, when I'm not writing, I read dystopian and science fiction. My favourites include 1984, The Handmaids Tale, The Road, anything Octavia Butler, Red Rising, Divergent, Snow Crash (Wow!), Project Hail Mary (still haunts me) and Joe Haldeman (The Forever War).
I'm looking forward to connecting with the community and joining the discussion :)
Hi, I'm Ace. I'm too busy to read often, but I love to sit down and devour a book once in a while. I'll read most genres, but I have a particular love of dystopian fiction, sci-fi, fantasy and myth/historical retellings. I'm on the lookout for more dystopian books to read, and I don't really have a preference what they are about or whether they end happily or sadly. The Hunger Games and Uglies got me into dystopian lit, and I stayed for the belief in the importance of hope that is often a staple in this genre.
Hi I’m Sabrina and I absolutely love books. I will read 200 pages at one time and finish 400 page books in two days. It sounds fake but I promise I’m telling the truth. It’s my passion and keeps my mind off hard times I get absorbed with my character feeling for them. My favorite genre in dystopian or science fiction book and I used to read many fiction.
Hi Sabrina, it’s nice to meet you. First of all I believe you I think that’s extremely impressive and a very noteworthy claim. My name is Randy. It’s nice to meet you. I don’t think I read. Is Millie pages as you do in one time I slow down on my pace, but I do read a lot of books. Just to let you know I teach Math at several community colleges here in the Los Angeles area. I read abroad ranger books. Yes I love dystopian fiction. One of my favorite books of all time is 1984. It deals with how you can control people by using language. That’s currently going on right now in the world so much spin and repression and then antifreeze speech movement. I don’t know if you believe this and maybe you disagree with me that’s fine. We can talk about it. We’ll discuss it. That’s the nature free speech is discussing ideas not necessarily ones that we always agree with. I’d love to hear back from you.
Hi, I'm Max, I enjoy different genres but dystopian is probably my favorite. Looking to make new friends and talk about books!
Hello, Dystopia Land! I’m Pius O. Ughakpoteni, an indie author and a passionate advocate for sustainability and transformative development. With a career spanning over 30 years in journalism, management, and public relations, I’ve had the privilege of serving as the Director of Corporate Affairs at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), where I spent 19 years championing sustainable development initiatives in one of the world’s most complex and resource-rich regions.
My journey has always been about driving meaningful change, whether through my work in corporate sustainability, as a columnist and Executive Director at The Plenary, Nigeria's leading parliamentary newspaper, or as the founder of the Center for Corporate Sustainability Performance Advancement (CCSPA), where I collaborate with executives to enhance their sustainability efforts.
What brings me here is my debut sci-fi novel, The Energy Nexus, the first in my Sustainability Lens Series. It’s a dystopian tale that dives into the intersection of energy, technology, and ethics, exploring what happens when humanity’s hunger for energy collides with the fragile balance of our environment. As a writer, I’ve drawn deeply from my professional and academic experiences, including my doctoral research at the Business School Lausanne, which examines the impact of leadership on corporate sustainability.
I’m thrilled to join this community of dystopian literature enthusiasts, where ideas about societal collapse and renewal inspire meaningful conversations. I hope to connect, share, and learn from fellow lovers of the genre as we delve into stories that challenge and illuminate.
I look forward to engaging with you all, sharing more about The Energy Nexus, and discussing our shared love for dystopian worlds!
Hi, I'm Curt Finch, an author living in Baltimore, MD. Reading Super Cannes by J.G. Ballard right now, an old favorite who never stopped mapping our current disquiet. I just released my new book "Montjoy" through Alternative Book Press. Looking for reviewers as well. If anyone is interested, please let me know!

RUBYHello is anyone out there, are there any survivors? Speak to me, I feel so alone...Jan Beauclerc
My genres are contemporary fiction, psychological thrillers, historical fiction, detective and police procedurals. I read a memoir every now and then when I see something provocative. In January my book club read the fabulous I Who Have Never Known Men. This brought me back to decades ago when I read and enjoyed dystopian novels.
Now I am on the troll for more great dystopian novels. Recently I read and would recommend The Dream Hotel by Laila Lalami. It made me mad and I loved it!
Feel free to send me your recommendations. Also I would be pleased to become a Goodreads friend.
Enjoy your reading,
Cheryl
Failed to mention that I read and loved The Hunger Games series.Having read The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes when it first came out I am ready to read Sunrise On the Reaping. Really looking forward to it as Haymitch is my favorite character in the series!

Hello my name is Zev and I am currently living in Colorado in the US and in Nosara, Costa Rica. I have recently been rereading the Silo series by Hugh Howey and am fascinated by the possibilities.
My greetings to everyone. I am new here but let's get straight into it.I prefer the shadows to remain in the background, and the light upfront.
If you care to know what I mean, try this book.
Hi everyone,My name is D.L. Branson, and I'm a debut author of speculative fiction. I write bleak, atmospheric sci-fi that blends post-apocalyptic settings with cosmic horror and character-driven tragedy. If you're a fan of the worlds in Annihilation or the emotional depth of games like The Last of Us and Death Stranding, you'll feel right at home in my work.
My debut novel, What the Dust Remembers, is set for release in 2026. It's a story about a lone courier who discovers his own monstrous connection to the plague that destroyed the world.
I'm excited to join this group to connect with fellow sci-fi readers and discover some new books to add to my 'to-read' pile. What's the best bleak or thought-provoking sci-fi novel you've read recently?
Looking forward to chatting with you all!
