Science is great and all, but not all of it can be trusted. I believe science should actually be able to PROVE the existence of God, not disprove it. God is the Master Scientist, after all!
But we humans seem to think, "oh, if a scientist says it's so, then it must be true".
Oh, and I mean the atheistic scientists. :)
Take the evolution theory, for one... Darwin made a seemingly sound argument for it, and BOOM, everyone picks up on it. Thing is, it's not proven. It's just theory... I read a great argument AGAINST evolution not too long ago, I should share it, it's great!
John Lennox. Never heard of him. Reading about him on wikipedia - he sounds awesome. :)

Richard Dawkins wrote The God Delusion, right?
I saved it to a playlist to watch later. :)

You go girl!! I completely agree with you.

I believe that some aspects can emphasize the existence of God though. If you look at a lot of things, it points the the presence of God.

My mom had me read this one for my great books history study as a teenager. It's really good, talks about a lot of really awesome and famous scientists who were Christians. :)

Evidence is proof, to my way of thinking.

darwin said that evolution wasn't real on his deathbed... mr. paul said that

A theory current in some modern creationist schools of thought interprets this verse to suggest that Peleg lived at the time the continent of Pangaea split into modern continents,[4] although some other creationist geologists contend that such an event had happened during the Flood, five generations before Peleg.[5]" wikipedia

yeah. people overlook that a lot. if they study his theoryof evolution, they should also look into why darwin decided evolution was wrong.

Hard to say. Here's an interesting article I started reading http://carm.org/secular-movements/evo...

No, he did not. That is a myth. We just learned this in science class from a Christian book.
How can we really know for sure, though?

Indeed. And Darwin thought his whole theory was ridiculous, after all. He was not serious about the whole thing - I like to see it as the man tried to con us for fun for a little while to prank everyone - except he managed to prank everyone for all time.

I'll have to look up the circumstances of when he died, but our Christian science book said he did not.
yeah we might not...i always hard that he changed his mind on his deathbed (his wife was christian and had been praying for him for years. Emma or something)

True true, I just don't think you can absolutely prove God. God doesn't want us to be able to prove him, because we're supposed to walk by faith.

I guess we think differently then :)
Not that I need 'evidence' in order to believe in God. :) I know He exists.

Right, that's what I was trying to say.
Yeah. totally agreed cari
I think you can argue emotionally or scientifically but either way theres faith involved. which is a confusing factor for non believers

We believe in creation
Schools go blahblahblah on evolution

i love challenging my teacher!! She's all like, "Uhhhh scientists have done research...moves on"

I remember one time in science class, we had just started a new unit and my teacher was going on and on about how we evolved from water creatures, etc. My friend, who sat all the way across the room, and I turned towards each other at the exact same moment, and rolled our eyes together. I think we were the only ones who didn't believe in evolution in that class.

Oh evolution -.- I had someone trying to convince me that there's a point during the developement of a chick in an egg where the baby chicken is actually a dinosaur. All I was doing "Dear Jesus, oh good Lord, please make them realize how dumb that is. Please please please! And would you mind burning up my school biology offices with your holy fire? Thanks!" *facepalm* But the thing is, the very terrifying truth is that we'd believe the same thing if God hadn't shown himself to us... THANK YOU SO MUCH GOD FOR MAKING US SEE THE TRUTH! :') Now we can know that we aren't monkeys.. or water creatures... or whatever the heck they say we are now :P

Exactly! Like, I believe in adaptation - I'm not saying that every single species of domestic cats was created and put on the ark - good Lord, can you imagine that?! Waaaay too many cats - Noah would've been the first crazy cat man! So I think it's totally plausible that cats "evolved", or better term here, adapted to their climate and then different types of cats "emerged", if you know what I mean. I think that makes sense. But all this "a chicked becomes a dinosaur becomes a monkey becomes a boy" stuff is just so mind-blowingly preposterous that it gives me a headache just trying to reason with people. That's why I just pray - works so much better :')

i love the quote. "people think its crazy for God to have turned nothing into something but think its normal for nothing to turn into something by itself."
the irony
the irony

Yeah that is pretty much my belief right now. I think that God created a basic type of every animal (dog, bear, cat etc.) with a very large gene pool that was capable of a lot of different adaptions and diversity etc. All the animals today are decedents of those basic types that God created. But just because there is evidence that adaption took place in one type of creature isn't evidence that one creature turned into another one or anything like that.

I agree. Some translations of the Bible still say that God created the beasts of the field and their kinds, etc. The large capability for a kind to adapt into various species is pretty immense. A Kind is able to reproduce with each other and not produce a horrible mutation. I think it's likely that the biblical Kind is roughly equivalent to the classification Order as shown in the link below.
