Karin Hello! I joined the group about a week ago and never thought to introduce myself. I'm also relatively new to Goodreads. I'm ready to get active with it all and get some great ideas for books. I'm currently reading The Story of Edgar Sawtelle. (the jury is still out on this one) I just finished A Thousand Splendid Suns and I loved it! I love to read and look forward to hearing your recommendations.

Karin I enjoy a wide variety...mostly fiction. My favorite books have been A Land Remembered (historical novel about Florida), The DaVinci Code, The Kite Runner and Splendid Suns, To Kill A Mockingbird, Jane Austen books, Phillipa Gregory books, James Patterson, Nora Roberts. I also really liked Eat, Pray, Love. As you can see I like a wide variety and I am ready to expand my horizons!

April (booksandwine) | 954 comments Might I recommend some Jen Lancaster? She's hilarious and a fantastic writer.

Thousand Splendid Suns was splendid. In fact, I liked it better than Kite Runner.

Janny (jannywurts) | 142 comments Hi Karin - I live in Florida, and agree - A Land Remembered was amazing! For the sort of wild and wooly primal flavored adventure with a Celtic twist, did you ever look at Tristan Jones book, Ice!?

message 12: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) If you love Jane Austen, you should try Elizabeth Gaskell...starting with North and South. Its very good! There is a great BBC mini-series also.

Welcome to the group, hope you enjoy everything :)

Check those out.
