Exactly! Sometimes the pages are stuck together and I'm just repulsed, so it motivates me to buy my own books. Some people just don't understand :P

message 52: by Sydney (new)

Sydney (sydneypearl) And I hate dog-eared pages! I spend just as I do reading the book and trying to flatten out and fix the pages of books that aren't even mine!

Natalie (Never trust a duck) When I lend a book to someone I always say "Do not bend anything or spill anything on it" Then I get it back and it's a mangled piece of bent corners and mysterious substances!

message 54: by Sydney (new)

Sydney (sydneypearl) I just only let certain people borrow my books. I let a friend of mine borrow my copy of Clockwork Princess, and I threatened him like everyday that if ANYTHING was messed up about my book he was going to buy me a whole new copy. :p

Natalie (Never trust a duck) Lol. I told this one guy that he owed me $5 for every injury he caused my book (I was joking.....kinda) and he flipped out and got really upset because he bent literally all four corners. That was the first and last time I lent him a book.

message 56: by Sydney (new)

Sydney (sydneypearl) Wooow! At least I've never had someone lose one of my books. That would have been bad for that person. I would gone crazy on them!

Natalie (Never trust a duck) Oh crap! you just reminded me that my friend has City of Ashes and he's about to move far away! thank you!!

message 58: by Sydney (new)

Sydney (sydneypearl) Well you're welcome!

Natalie (Never trust a duck) I;m thinking about hitting the library today and maybe getting The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer. My mom also gets mad at me when I have books I haven't read, but I still go to the library and get a ton. :P

I've never read that! But I've heard that it's super good. And when I usually check out books from the library, I make myself read them before I start on the books I own, since they have a due date.

Natalie (Never trust a duck) Same here. When there's a due date I'm always like "must finish, must finish" I have to return Masque of the Red Death and The Pirate's Wish.

message 62: by Sydney (new)

Sydney (sydneypearl) How are you liking Masque of the Red Death? Right now I only have Ophelia checked out, because it's been a long time since our library got new books (due to their budget being cut super low) and they still have to buy non-fiction and adult and children's and audiobooks and dvds and stuff. So they haven't gotten any new young adult books in a while and when they do, they're continuations of series they already have.

Natalie (Never trust a duck) I really liked Masque of the Red Death. I thought it was super good! I was surprised, because I actually kinda liked the main character. I'm trying to decide whether or not i should forgive Will for turning in Araby or not :P I can't wait for the second one, I won it in a giveaway! That sucks about the budget. Though, it's a good argument as to why you need to buy books :)

Lucky! I never win anything! :( I liked it too, but it wasn't my favorite. I'm not sure why, but I didn't like Araby that much. I liked April though. I always seem to like the best friend on the main characters. lol.

Natalie (Never trust a duck) Me too. April was awesome! When there's a girl main character and her love interest who has a best friend that's a guy, I typically like the best friend better too. Like in Shatter Me, I like Adam don't get me wrong, but I like Kenji better.

message 66: by Sydney (new)

Sydney (sydneypearl) I've never read Shatter Me. lol So I wouldn't know. Although I definitely liked Simon better than Clary in TMI.

Natalie (Never trust a duck) Simon compared to Clary is like Magnus compared to Mortmain for me. I just always though Clary was a bit shallow and not my cup of tea :P For Masque of the Red Death do you like Will or Elliot better? I'm kinda leaning towards Elliot, but I have a weakness for the name Will :P

message 68: by Sydney (new)

Sydney (sydneypearl) I was sorta leaning toward Will until about halfway through, then I was like "nope! I'm going with Elliot!" I think what appealed to me about Will was I thought his being a big brother thing was sweet. But him as a character I didn't like as much.

Natalie (Never trust a duck) When I first met Elliot I was like "you're too arrogant for me right now, you need to calm down". Will being a big brother got to me too, I was like "awww thats so sweet!!" Then he pulled that stunt and I was like "I'm done with you Will. Araby go to Elliot right now"

message 70: by Sydney (new)

Sydney (sydneypearl) Yeah! Because in his own way Elliot loves Araby, he's just not all super gushy about it.

Natalie (Never trust a duck) I like that Elliot doesn't constantly drape himself on Araby. But I loved Will's siblings, so CUTE!

message 72: by Sydney (new)

Sydney (sydneypearl) Yes! I liked Will for his siblings! Whose names I don't recall. . . But that was one of my favorite things about Elliot was he was definitely not clingy.

Natalie (Never trust a duck) Team Elliot! I actually sometimes really enjoy love triangles, they are quite entertaining :)

message 74: by Sydney (new)

Sydney (sydneypearl) They are! Until the main character gets annoying with their "omg! Who do I pick?!"

Natalie (Never trust a duck) Like in Mockingjay, ugh i wanted to pounce on Katniss and slap some sense into her.

message 76: by Lissette (new)

Lissette (liss4ever) i read 34 books so far out of the 50 books that i plan to read.

message 77: by Lissette (new)

Lissette (liss4ever) right now i'm reading the harry potter series, i finished the second book yesterday and now i'm on the third book.

message 78: by Sydney (new)

Sydney (sydneypearl) I know! But what I hated about Mockingjay was Katniss gets knocked out then when she wakes up they're just like "oh, by the way, Gale just kinda went to live in a different district. He didn't say bye or anything." Worst solution to a love triangle EVER. Well, that and in Breaking Dawn when Jacob doesn't love Bella any more because he falls in love with her baby. Which I find creepy.

message 79: by Lissette (new)

Lissette (liss4ever) @Sydney me too Syndey, if i'm really into a book i'll finish it in 1-2 days, i finished the 3rd and 4th book of a diary of a wimpy kid series in 2 days.

message 80: by Sydney (new)

Sydney (sydneypearl) Lissette wrote: "right now i'm reading the harry potter series, i finished the second book yesterday and now i'm on the third book."

Yay you're over half way! How're you liking Harry Potter? :)

message 81: by Lissette (new)

Lissette (liss4ever) i love it omg it's so amazing. harry, Hermione, Ron, all the characters are great. i didn't like the Lockhart in the second book he was annoying.

message 82: by Lissette (new)

Lissette (liss4ever) also, i agree with you about Simon i always prefered him than Clary in the TMI series because like she was selfish and only used him to get what she wants and she didn't care as long as she was with Jace.

message 83: by Sydney (new)

Sydney (sydneypearl) Yeah he is pretty annoying. I'm glad you like them though! :)

Natalie (Never trust a duck) I really liked Gale so when he dissappeared i was in shock and needed ro punch someone. While i was still team peeta, Gale shouLd have said bye or sent her an email, SOMETHING! I though it was DISGUSTING that after Jacob makes out with Bella he goes and marrys her daughter. I mean, who does that?!?!

message 85: by Lissette (new)

Lissette (liss4ever) i felt like with Gale he should have at least wrote her a letter explaining why he left, even though i'm team Peeta. i still feel they should have had some closure between them.

Natalie (Never trust a duck) closure is always the answer :P

message 87: by Sydney (new)

Sydney (sydneypearl) I totally agree! The only love triangle I was completely satisfied with was Clockwork Princess.

message 88: by Lissette (new)

Lissette (liss4ever) yea it always is, :), i sill have to read TID series which i'll probably buy it sent it's cheaper on amazon.

Natalie (Never trust a duck) i waan't because i was completely infatuated with Will so when she ran off to Jem i got really sad, but i agree it waa nice that both jem amd will got tessa

message 90: by Sydney (last edited Jul 08, 2013 10:28AM) (new)

Sydney (sydneypearl) I liked Will, but I LOVED Jem. I just wanted Jem to be happy and have Tessa. lol

message 91: by Lissette (new)

Lissette (liss4ever) also, in the TMI series who do you guys like better Simon or Clary? i say SIMON because he's the character who's developed so much throughout the series. Clary is still annoying even towards the 5th book. i'm like seriously you couldn't just do what you were told to do instead of always being impulsive.

Natalie (Never trust a duck) Jem was sweet and you couldn't not like him, it was impossible. I cried when he was saying goodbye to will, i was like Jem don't leave me!

I like Simon better. But he's not my favorite. Magnus is my favorite. Followed by Isabelle, because even though sometime she acts like a spoiled brat, she makes me laugh.

Natalie (Never trust a duck) i rock the vote for simon

message 95: by Lissette (new)

Lissette (liss4ever) that's what happen when they make the guy characters so different that you have to like one more than the other one.

message 96: by Lissette (new)

Lissette (liss4ever) and you're conflicted because you like both of them for totally different reasons.

message 97: by Sydney (new)

Sydney (sydneypearl) Natalie wrote: "Jem was sweet and you couldn't not like him, it was impossible. I cried when he was saying goodbye to will, i was like Jem don't leave me!"

I bawled like a baby the last 100 pages of Clockwork Princess!

message 98: by Lissette (new)

Lissette (liss4ever) yea me too. Magnus is just amazing and he's so witty, that's true and City of Glass shows that side of her. i like Isabelle better than Clary since Isabelle knows what she wants and doesn't change her mind every second.

message 99: by Sydney (new)

Sydney (sydneypearl) Yes! And she's not all super impulsive like Clary is!

message 100: by Lissette (new)

Lissette (liss4ever) right:) that's why i love her. plus the whole Clace thing got annoying when they like we can't be together in the first book since they were "siblings". i'm like why don't they just take a DNA test? i mean i know it's suppose to be like that to make it dramatic. but no, the first thing they though of was i can't kiss him/her now. and they kissed like twice.
