I'm sorry Kath but I won't be entering this month.
I'm just not impressed (and I'm sure you will back me up on this) by the standard of voting.
Now Jud is away from her post: if your good self, GL, Elle, Rosemary or anyone else with a handy whip and curt word, could drum up some enthusiasm from the voting public in the meantime; I may well reconsider my position.

It's not the standard so much as the quantity. I've always enjoyed entering - it's a better brain stretch than a sudoku!

I wonder if people think that only those who've entered can vote? I'll try drumming up some interest on the general chat threads. They'll be sick of hearing my voice (those who aren't already!)

I love this "contest", like yourself I am a reader and I know I will never become a writer (particularly when you read and take into account the quality of some of "our" authors), but it would be nice if there was more voting going on.

Would it be possible to write an entry about a guy who joins a goodreads group, and then rebels against it after he discovers the group is sex mad and that standards and decency are going downhill!! :)

I've written one but I can't decide if it's any good. I will sit on it for a bit and see if something else comes to me. Then I will enter it anyway and get back to writing my book. Worryingly I seem to be using these exercises to accidentally write mini back-stories to me characters.
