Hello and Welcome!

How many books do you read at a time?
one book at a time. More than one will ruin the imagination.however, if you see my currently reading, you'll see many books, not because I read them all...I have stopped reading them and not sure when to continue ;p
I usually have three books at a time on my currently-reading shelf: one audiobook, one e-book and one normal(paper)book.
I can read two books at a time. But it depend with the content of the books. When I read A Clash of Kings, i need something light like Rick Riordan's so I won't get bored
Maximum 2 books.. One paperback and one e-book. And the books must have different themes or i'll get the stories mixed up.
between 1-3 titles. a paperback on my night stand and whatever ebook(s) on my now-reading folder. and the occasional audiobooks.

Me too. Sometimes if I forget to bring the book I'm currently reading, I'll read ebook in my laptop/cellphone. Or sometimes when I think the book I'm currently reading is a bit too dark, I'll read something light and short just to brighten the mood.

Me too. I usually read 1 main book at a time, plus 1 additional e-book on cellphone just in case I don't bring book to read on public transportation or when waiting for my meal to be ready at food stall :D

Citra wrote: "So, Clash of Kings bothers you? How on Earth? :P "It didn't bothers me. I just needed extra time to read this book. I think it is because of its details. So I needed a lighter and faster-paced book to accompany me if I only have a little time to kill
I often switch books when I'm reading them. Sometimes when I feel bored I'll read a new one or read an ebook and then continue back to reading the first book...I honestly find it hard to concentrate at (only) one book at a time, especially when I haven't reach 'the enganging part of the book' yet
Usually just one; I used to make it a point to never start a new book unless I've finished the one that I was then reading. BUT, I am currently juggling three books and it's actually (to quote Silvana) ruining my reading mojo.
A minimum of two and a maximum of four! One fiction book and one non fiction book. And I usually read a long book that takes weeks to finish, so it's concurrent with my current reading.
One book for home/work reading and one on the phone. Ebook is really a lifesaver! I used to bring a book whenever I go out (and getting stares from my friends when I take out my book and start reading). Now I can even read during wedding party which would've been improper with paper books *laughs*.
This might sound weird but when I became a book blogger, I can only read one book at a time. But before I became a book blogger, I could read two, or even three books.
I agree with @nana, I can handle 2 books at a time but it should be in different themes, but then if a sequel to a book is released when I'm in the middle of another book, I would stop reading the another one and start the sequel haha xD
I don't have limits. Once I read 6 books at the same time, but currently I keep it 4. I tend to get bored to read just one book at one time; I manage to read several books with different genres. In this way I read much more book in such a short time
I can only read 1 book at a time. Because when I read a book, I get so immersed into it that my imagination, and even my own thought, follows exactly the way the book is written. I even started to talk in my head the way the main character talk. When I have finished that book, I have to allow myself a "break time" or "transition time" to ease my mind back to my own personality before I start a new book. I dunno why, but I think this is because my imagination is too strong. Hahaha.
When the book is something I waited for years then I read it one at a time, but usually I can multi-read as long as the genre's different or I'll get confused and mixed it up.

Hanita wrote: "I don't have limits. Once I read 6 books at the same time, but currently I keep it 4. I don't think of it as being distracted but being entertained by many things together, for me it's multiplying the pleasure ^^
Stevannie wrote: @Hanita Sometimes I just had the urge..."Multiplying the pleasure? I agree with that, if,,, the book I currently read is good. Sometimes I found a book with good reviews, well-rated, and soooo other good things attached to the book. But, when I read it myself, well, it is not what I really expected. Because of my habit to finish the book, despite the weaknesses, I give myself a break by reading another book. After two-three chapters, I will go back again, hehe :D
Anyone have the same experience?

You know, I've tried doing that once, reading more than one book at a time. I picked a fiction and a non-fiction so I wouldn't mix them up. But it didn't work. I ended up reading the more interesting one all the way to the end, haha.
well tried reading 3 at a time: one for weekdays, one for weekends and one for light reading before bed, and it didn't work because everytime i tried reading the 3rd book, i ended up falling asleep before even finishing 2 pages haha...
One at a time. If I read more than that, I'll easily get confused with other stories and forget which part I read from the other book.
Used to juggle between 2-3 books at a time, but now I'd consider myself lucky enough if I had time for one book. It would take sometime too to finish. *sigh* Nevertheless, seldom have myself without reading any. I made a point that I get something to read everytime.
I can handle reading multiple books at a time. Most commonly two or three. One in the bus or while waiting, usually, the other(s) at home.
Maybe around 2-3 books, but usually because the first one gets so boring and I'm too lazy to finish it.
Actually, just 1, but sometimes when the book is quite consuming, and I found other interesting book(s), I'll switch to that book, and would usually read it until I finished, and returned to the previous book I read. Mind you though that the first step can happen when I read the second book, so yeah recently I found myself juggling between 3 to 4 books (as can be seen from my currently reading shelf).
Mostly one at a time since usually I bought books in series. But these days I'm reading 2-3 books since I got some different title and was too curious to left them be :D.
Mostly I can read only one book two or three sometimes, it really depends like when I read series I can't stop only in the first book..
Depends on the book itself. If the book that I'm reading currently not too boring or have slow plot, I usually could stand with one book. Maximum 2 books at a time
I read more than a book at a time. I'm easily distracted by other interesting books and I end up having several on going reading books. Sometimes I have a hard time recalling in what page or in what scenes I stopped. I just can't help it!
i can hold up reading 3-4 books at a time if i'm feeling particularly ambitious at a given time but on average i usually read two books at a time
max 2 books, and it had to be different or I'll get everything mixed up.. If I got more than 2, I'd probably read it one at a time
One book. I already committed to myself, if I don't finish a book, I will not read any book until I finish it. That's why to finish a boring book, I rather skimmed most of the part so I can end it soon and start a new one
Well, I actually gave it another try. I am juggling with three or four books right now and there's always one that's more interesting than the rest.It helps me finish book more effectively and it's unlikely for me to stuck with boring books. I hope it continues to work this way :D

What about you? What is your reading habit?
