I have started a couple books actually and haven't finished them but the one that I am going to finish first is
Hereafter (Hereafter, #1) by Tara Hudson
and it is really good so far and I can not wait to get the next one.

Rebekkah Ford | 8 comments I just got done reading The Host. I will be posting a review within a couple days. I really liked it. :)

message 4: by Alex (new)

Alex (acobaf) I loved the host, and I especially enjoyed hereafter!

message 5: by Rebekkah (new)

Rebekkah Ford | 8 comments I never heard of hereafter. I'll have to check it out.

Marie Lenore | 4 comments Hi! I'm new. How do you post the little book image links? I'm thinking about reading:
-- Thirty Nights with a Highland Husband
--Dreams Underfoot (short stories, I think?)
--Between Time and the Stars (novella)
--Tiger's Curse

Does anyone know anything about these? The last few books and short stories I've read have been baaaad, and I'd like to try something now that won't make me want to punch myself in the face.

message 7: by Marie (new)

Marie Lenore | 4 comments Oh, and I actually really liked The Host, too, though I have avoided Twilight like the plague.

message 8: by Rebekkah (new)

Rebekkah Ford | 8 comments Marie, I've never heard of those books before, so I don't know if they're good or not. If you want to post a picture of a book, just click on "add book/author" above the comments box. Is that what you were talking about?

I have got to say I loved tigers cure it was amazing for me. Even though I have only read 2 of them. I did think there not going to be any good but it turns out they were better than I thought

And I have just finished Hereafter and now I am going to read The Great Gatsby.

message 10: by Alex (new)

Alex (acobaf) Hey do you guys want any of these to be one of our books of the month?

message 11: by Marie (new)

Marie Lenore | 4 comments Hey -- thanks Rebekkah! I at least was able to add links.

I read Gatsy in school, but not since then. Might be time to pick it back up.

message 12: by Marie (new)

Marie Lenore | 4 comments I added "Hereafter" to my Wanna Read list.

Enyoung I'm only a few pages in to it, I have to hurry up and finish it because my friend is not pleased with my progression. e__e;

Alex (acobaf) lol it's easy to finish fast. It's a wonderful read!!

Alex (acobaf) Awakened (Vampire Awakenings, #1) by Brenda K. Davies

Ok note to everyone since I wasn't aware, this is a ADULT book 18+

With that being said I am almost halfway through this 750pg book and it's... not very good. The Author showed a lot of promise but the lead character is showing to be spineless and stupid and the back story is lacking, leaving you curious if not confused. BUT it's impossible for me to start a book and not finish so when I am all the way complete I will give a full review, but so far I say stay clear.

I have read this book and yes I really did not like it

Alex (acobaf) Awakened Awakened (Vampire Awakenings, #1) by Brenda K. Davies

To begin I would like to state this is a ADULT book not YA as I had thought. With that being said if you're a fan of boring, repetitive sex scenes that you end up skipping because either they're too much or just don't make any sense, this book is for you.

If like me you love to read a good book filled with great dialog and has a definitive story and all consuming plot, don't waste your time. I disliked this book from the beginning, but being someone who can't start a book with out finishing it I was tortured, tormented and beaten into boredom for countless hours that I will never get back.

I feel bad this book is getting such a bad review from me because I often try to see the good in everything, but I feel like for whatever reason it is my duty to make sure everyone knows this story for its truths.

Even though I hated it, I must take some fault because I didn't even read the description, and solely picked this "story" (if you can call it that) based on the cover.

I personally think that this book could have been decent had it been more thought out. I felt that either I was trying to catch up, like I missed something or begging the author to move on (often the sex scenes), overall it was executed very poorly, everything in it!

The characters were very spiritless, stale, dry and flat and lacked feeling, poise and life in basically every aspect but especially in the cognitive behavior as well as dialog. I was absolutely disconnected throughout the entire book.
There was way too much 'sex', and even if I could enjoy reading about it as frequently as it was poured into the story, it would still be boring and inaccurate (losing your V-card in this book was like stubbing your toe)and the rest of the sex lacked any truth. It would be fine if it was fantasy and had steam and heat but it lacked even that.

Although I love to rant and rave I know I should stop, if I had written a book it would be painful to read such reviews and I apologize for my blatant honestly but anything else would be a complete lie and I don't write reviews for the author to feel better about themselves, I write them so readers know what to expect and wish I had read them before wasting time on this when I could have found a book with true characters and a story line.

Basically DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME!

The Girl in the Steel Corset (Steampunk Chronicles, #1) by Kady Cross

This book was amazing. I am sad that she only wore the steel corset 2 times but it still was an amazing book. I am also very proud of myself because I read about a 490 page book in less than a day.

I'm glad you liked it, I tried to but just couldn't really get into it, too much x-man mixed with steam punk. But I loved the idea and I am thrilled someone else got to enjoy it :)
