Ok guys, I'm back. Had to take a break to get my kids from baseball, they are helpers for the little kids at the church where we go.

Yes Vicki, I agree with you about Nathaniel. I thought he was nice, (view spoiler)[ I was just nervous about the whole girlfriend thing. Well we know the answer to that question! (hide spoiler)]

Alec (view spoiler)[ I loved the fact that Nathaniel choose Charlie since Alec didn't. I really feel like he's taking her for granted that she will always be there and he has no worries that she would like someone else or want to leave. (hide spoiler)]

On her parents, (view spoiler)[ I can tell her dad loves her more than her mom does that's for sure, I just think he leans on Charlie than he does on Sadie Ann. Sadie Ann is more like her mother so he gives her free rein and Charlie is more like him, she's dependable and responsible so he gives her more to do. (hide spoiler)]

I thought it very realistic too! Vicki you're taking all my thoughts and putting them into words for me, it's like you can read my mind!! I love how Charlie (view spoiler)[is described as awkward and kind of a klutz. How she doesn't know what to do with her feelings, doesn't know how to react to things because she's learning how to deal new things and emotions. (hide spoiler)]

About the old couple, that thought had crossed my mind, so I wonder I if there is something more to that and we'll see something more about it later.

I'm loving how sweet this romance is and that it's taking 4 summers to nurture it, giving it time to grow. :)

Ok I'm done rambling I'm starting chapter 9, finishing the first summer.

Ok just finished summer #2 and first I have to say that I love Nathaniel's POV. I've always wondered how it is that female authors can write a male POV because sometimes they come across as too girly or over the top. I think Nyrae Dawn is one of the best that can get it just right!! :)

I have to admit I think I was wrong about (view spoiler)[ Charlotte's dad. I don't know, maybe trying to do everything at the cabins and not getting any help from the mom and Sadie is making him bitter, but I think it's more than that too. I'm just not sure what it is. (hide spoiler)]

I love that Nathaniel (view spoiler)[ told her she would be it for him if they lived closer together!! I love that he makes her feel special, the way he is with her, he is sooooo sweet!!! And oh my gosh, what his friend Adam did to that girl!! I can not even imagine what that was like for him to go through that. (hide spoiler)]

I've only just read past summer #3 and starting chapter 1 of Charlotte's POV and (view spoiler)[ I knew something bad was going to happen, something that would make it where Charlotte would have to make a choice to stay or leave. I kept thinking what would make her leave and the only answer I came up with was if she couldn't do it by herself. I mean how can she stay and run the cabins when her mom and Sadie gone...which btw got me so peeved...and her dad has MS, and he was angry before I can only guess how he's going to be now. Ok I know Alec is there to help her, but I still don't see how she can do it and her dad shouldn't expect it of her! I'm hoping that they will go to college somewhere together at the end, that would be the perfect ending for me. (hide spoiler)]

Just finished chapter 8 on summer #3

Her dad (view spoiler)[ ok I'm back to her loves her, you can tell he does, he just doesn't have the help he needs to run The Village and he doesn't have the money to hire anybody either. That still isn't an excuse for Charlotte to stay there instead of going to college somewhere and doing what she wants to do with her life. I'm glad her dad is seeing Nate in another light and is not so hard on them anymore.

Also there is something going on with her dad that he is not telling her. I don't know squat about MS I do know that it affects people different ways so this is just a guess. Can he have like an advanced case and he is deteriorating faster than expected or something like that. I don't know what else to think and it's so sad for Charlotte to have to watch her dad to go through that, it really breaks my heart. Now I'm scared to think what is going to happen with him and her mom and sister aren't there to help her. (hide spoiler)]

Okay, I finished early this morning (1:30 AM) and just posted my review.

I loved this book, I really, really did! I thought the plot was terrific and unique, the characterization was very well-done and balanced. I wanted SO badly to give the book 5 stars, but I just couldn't. Read my review for why: http://www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

Yeah I have noticed all the typos but I also put into account she is working on two other books as well and I think she rushed to get this one out because there are normally not as many typos in her books

That might be, but they aren't just typos! There are ridiculous errors, so I had to drop my rating. I don't think that a book can be overall rated amazing with those types of mistakes. That is just my personal opinion.

ugh, the typos and errors were AWFUL! They were so distracting!!!

But, I kept my rating high because I did love that Nyrae took the chance to write on such a tough topic. And I thought she handled it just wonderfully

so I kept my high rating for her respect and love :)

I understand rating as you did, too. It's just that I edit for a living (school papers, yearbook) and when I read a book with SO many awful mistakes (not just typos) it truly reduces my total enjoyment of the reading experience. I'd never give an essay an A on a paper that had that many of those types of errors, so I just can't rate it as AMAZING knowing that it's FULL of mistakes. To me it's about more that just how much I enjoyed the plot or characters. I also enjoy reading a beautiful manipulation of the English language. I DID love the story and the protagonists! :o)

Yes, I can't even IMAGINE how frustrating that is for you! I'm glad you were able to overlook at least some of that stuff to enjoy the story. I know this book was especially riddled with mistakes! I know it's bad when I notice it! I'm typically able to gloss over it, for the most part...

and I loooooved (view spoiler)[ Alec & Brandon. I hated that they felt they had to hide it, but I loved when Brandon did finally tell Nate and he was shocked and then all good with it :) (hide spoiler)] it was such a great moment between brothers. It got me all teary-eyed :)
