GoodReads Description

Fifteen-year-old Eragon believes that he is merely a poor farm boy—until his destiny as a Dragon Rider is revealed. Gifted with only an ancient sword, a loyal dragon, and sage advice from an old storyteller, Eragon is soon swept into a dangerous tapestry of magic, glory, and power. Now his choices could save—or destroy—the Empire.

David Estes (davidestesbooks) | 69 comments LOVE this series!! Every single book was awesome, especially considering they were written by a teenager, crazy!!

I read the book about 6 years ago. I have only very faint memories of it now, I have to admit, but I get a strong feeling of boredom when I think of it.

I finished this one, attempted Eldest, got bored and failed, and have never picked up the series again.

Lol. :p Lots of people seem to like it, though. We're just a bunch of cynics!! I'll never give in to the temptation to read any more of the series, though.

Jeshu (jeshusauria) Well, we have to look at our CV... we hated Vampire Academy and City of Bones, which apparently everyone loves XD

Yes but Tara, you're weird. :p This has already been established.

I didn't even manage to get beyond the first couple of chapters of City of Bones it was so bad. Vampire Academy was ok but only a couple of characters (Christian!) were really good.

Jeshu (jeshusauria) Yes!!1 Christian!!! He was the best XD

Jessi | 49 comments I loved this book but have yet to read the next one. I'm finishing up all the other books I've sitting on my shelf before I start the next one. I also loved City of Bones & the rest of that series & the following series after that. Eragon made me want a dragon ha ha

Maggie the Muskoka Library Mouse (mcurry1990) This book was alright. I read it awhile ago, and haven't moved on to the second one yet. Maybe this winter I can tackle it. :)
