This book is about a guy whose wife wants a divorce. He encounters a man (maybe in a coffee shop) and they take a walk on the beach. I seem to remember something about him being under a pier? The man explains the different kinds of love and how we each feel loved differently. The wife wants more help from him around the house and he needs more affection. Help! I'd really like to know the name of this book!

Is it The Five Love Languages: How to Express Heartfelt Commitment to Your Mate? Your book sounds like a novel which this isn't but there IS a picture of a beach on this.
Thanks Diana. That's what I thought it might be originally, but don't think that's right. I will look into it today to confirm.
A friend commented the use of different animals to describe the types of love... A dog, fish, bird?
