Don't give up on me yet! I had a *insert swear word here* day at work thanks to everyone who decided to wait until the very last minute to shop for Mother's Day for either their mothers or their outfit for Mother's Day!! ARGH!!! It comes once a year, around the same time, people... why did everyone have to wait until the last second??

After that, the husband and son took me to dinner for my Mother's Day meal a night early so we can just stay home and relax tomorrow (AFTER I get off work, SIGH).

And since I've been home I've been vegging to music but I am about to get serious with my last book in a moment! I have until 10 AM to finish this baby and I intend to.

OK, so we now have 135/155 points. Not a bad job all things considered, we still have 3 hours and 38 minutes to reach the 155! :o)

I MET MY GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so good at doing things at the last minute if I really put my mind to it, haha. Woo, I'm so glad I met my goal!

Submitted the above update because we are getting down to the wire and 2 more players hit their goal overnight. I checked Jex's books read just to see if maybe forgot to update her page thread but it shows only the 2 she put down so far.

The RAT is over in an hour so I didn't want to wait JIC something prevented me from coming back on to update that Lisa Kay & Teresa hit their goals and to add the Mod accounts blue book.

I will check again in a bit. I need breakfast.

I know Jex has not been feeling 100%. This is probably why she didn't post.

No worries. I doubt we are the only team where real life got in the way for a player or two.

I thought I would read a lot more pages than I did so I'm glad I didn't aim higher.

Well, I aimed too high. LOL! I had my audio on 1 1/2 speed for the last half of it. And zipped though two books where I might have to reread parts. ☺

I actually did read more because I had to get started on one of my door stoppers. But the 300 pages of Atlas Shrugged don't count because I didn't finish it in time.

Yeah, I think Atlas Shrugged should be savored.

Well, I met my goal in the nick of time but I think that worked out for me in the sense that it really motivated me to squeak out that last book! It was really meant to be that I finished it because I randomly woke up at 4:00 AM, just out of the blue, and was able to finish it with one or two hours to go. The book was a very fast read, too. Next time I may aim lower just to be a little more conservative but I am happy with how I did.

Exactly. It's not something you can just speed listen/read to and fully get the book.

It was fun, but I really pushed myself. I have't read a thing since it ended. LOL!

I shouldn't have upped my goal :-( although I felt like I was cheating finishing my goal day 1. Oh well. Life happens.
