What do you think so far? Are you enjoying the book? No spoilers in this thread please!

Julia | 432 comments I just picked it up!

Michelle (shel312) Bought this for my nook a few weeks ago when it was $2.99. Just finished the book I was reading and was trying to decide on my next one when I came across this post. I'm excited to be participating in my first book with this group!

Grace (gdaminato) | 520 comments I listened to the audiobook a week or so ago. I enjoyed the book as I listened to it, then went on to other books, other things. I tried to bring the book to mind for this group and, would you believe, I couldn't remember anything about it other than Park was Asian. That shows you how memorable it was for me. It was jumbled in my mind with the other books I read or listened to in the intervening week.

Fortunately, I found a review that gave enough details to trigger my memory. What I remember of my initial impressions is that it was good - different enough to keep me interested to the end.

Kit Kat I think the kids that school are very idiotic, but it does portray how my school is like pretty well.

Sarah (geekymom13) I just finished it and I thought it was great! I'm glad I own it because I know it is something that I will read a few times. So many things from the 80's that I love. :)

I love the 80s stuff too. I like the amazing soundtrack Rowell has created. Though it's not all 80s music which surprised me:

Lots of videos on this webpage... my adobe crashed but you can still go to Spotify.

E.J. Mellow | 25 comments I'm loving it so far! The vulgar honesty in parts of the book surprised me at first, not in the sense that I was offended, but just that I didn't go in thinking it was that kind of book (maybe bc the cover is just so darn sweet).
When I'm reading it, it puts me in a similar mindset as when I read Perks of Being a Wallflower. Did anyone else feel that way?

Excited to see where it goes and how the characters develop apart as much as they develop together.

Kim (kadykayf) I started listening to it and then it had to be returned and I haven't finished it yet because I'm back at the bottom of the list.

I think she did a good job of showing two different kids and how love can grow slowly. I did get tired of Eleanor after a while and even considered not finishing it because of that. But I love how both of them think they're not worthy of love because they are not typical beauties. I think that will resonate with a lot of teens.

Sorry to hear that you had to return your audio Kim!! I had to do that once .. and you know I need to re-check that book out now that I think about it!

Natasha Orchard (natashamaree) | 5 comments I ordered the book last week and it came yesterday, i'm already half way through it and i absolutely love it.

Eleanor is quite interesting and park has amazing taste in music, its a strange romance but its a very unique view and that is one of reasons i love this book!

Julia | 432 comments I read it in a day. I was totally drawn into Eleanor's situation. Park sharing his graphic novels with her and his music.

He's a pretty perfect guy, which is a compliment to him. I don't read enough YA novels with good young men.

Rachel (almostasandwich) I didn't get this book until late in the month, but I like it a lot so far.

Who is Ezra Miller?

Thanks. Guess I'm getting old... not getting cultural references because they're too new.
