Barbara ★ It seems as if Chopping Spree doesn't have an edition with the same page count as the book I read so I changed my numbers to reflect this minus the 217 pages that don't count. Now I am in accord with GRs page count totals.

Barbara★, do you need me to add an edition for you?

Ange, I change the page count of Beautiful Chaos.

As far as the cover, I would say that is mauve.

That's not necessary LK. I only count the actual reading pages, while GRs counts every page inside the cover. My edition does have 368 if you count all those blank pages and adverts.

message 57: by Valerie (new)

Valerie The book I finished is considered Young Adult....

Carrie (icanhasbooks) | 21 comments The edition of the book I finished last night doesn't have pages listed for kindle. So if it get's edited now to say them will it show up in my pages read? Book in question The Affectionate Adversary (Miss Pickworth Series #1) by Catherine Palmer kindle ed.

message 61: by Carrie (last edited May 08, 2013 07:24AM) (new)

Carrie (icanhasbooks) | 21 comments I know it's a stretch but this Shooting Stars (A Surah Stormsong Novel, #1) by H.D. Gordon won't work for the color theme right?

I have to read it regardless for a review, just hoping I could knock out two birds one with one stone, ha ha.

message 62: by JoLene (new)

JoLene (trvl2mtns) Looks almost the same as the cover that Evil Twin Ange asked about so I would say yes.

message 63: by JoLene (new)

JoLene (trvl2mtns) Yes, I believe that if its edited, they will automatically show up.

message 64: by Carrie (last edited May 08, 2013 07:30AM) (new)

Carrie (icanhasbooks) | 21 comments Okay I checked amazon and edited the edition, they say 346 pages. I was sitting at a total of 17091 for the year before editing. I'll check later to see if it updates, as of the change it never.

Thank you about the book cover.

message 65: by jingles (new)

jingles So, like, where do we stand with the read-a-thon? Do I need to change my goal? I've read a total of 3238 pages so far. Today is the last day to make a change. :)

message 66: by JoLene (last edited May 08, 2013 07:55AM) (new)

JoLene (trvl2mtns) As mentioned above, you can change, but it has to be done in 6 minutes. Please send a message to mods as I am leaving for work. The team is on track

message 67: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (icanhasbooks) | 21 comments My numbers of pages on the stats page hasn't changed from before the edit. :(

message 68: by JoLene (new)

JoLene (trvl2mtns) @Carrie, there seems to be a "bug" with GR regarding the timing of when the stats are updated. This is the reason that the mods decided to use the "read" shelf instead.

It seems like if you select "publication year" in the stats section, it forces a refresh and your numbers get updated. Unfortunately someone said that sometimes it's only temporary. I know that when I was trying to get the start stats for our team, it was very strange because the books would be listed when you drilled down into 2013, but the numbers displayed didn't match up.

message 69: by JoLene (new)

JoLene (trvl2mtns) @jingles, I'm sorry -- I mentioned in post 62 that you could raise your goal if you wanted. Unfortunately, I think that the deadline was 8am pacific time.

message 70: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (icanhasbooks) | 21 comments Jolene I did that and all is well now, thanks.

Barbara ★ I don't know if we're supposed to be keeping track of the mini-challenges or not but I did all the games (which I don't think count) and these mini-challenges (1,2,3,7,8,9,10,11).

message 75: by Valerie (new)

Valerie I'll finish Sharp Objects tonight, and then I'll start my mauve cover.

jingles JoLene wrote: "@jingles, I'm sorry -- I mentioned in post 62 that you could raise your goal if you wanted. Unfortunately, I think that the deadline was 8am pacific time."

I'm so sorry, Jolene. I didn't even see message #62 until about 11pm last night. I did see message #69, but it didn't make sense to me, and I was in such a hurry, I didn't take the time to check back through the the thread.

Apparently (as I've just learned from my son), sometimes the notifications do not come through right away, or not at all. As this is the primary way I've been checking up on things, I totally missed the earlier message, and didn't get my goal changed as I should have.

Now I know, I'll definitely need to be more careful in checking the threads, and not totally rely on the notification feature.

:(

message 77: by Hina (new)

Hina (hinaj) I have the book I am reading now and one more before I read the mauve cover and YA. Sorry I am going by my list. LOL.

I did a couple of both of these, but then decided I should read more :-D. I'm not a speedy reader like most of you!

I have noticed that the notification remembers only a certain amount of things, I want to say about 10 - 15 maybe, but the older notification stop showing up depending how many new notification came in, or at least that's how I see it for mine.

True. No of these affect your Team points, other than getting five points for submitting the mini-challenges before the R-a-T started.

However, you might get something else for the cupcakes...later.

message 82: by Hina (new)

Hina (hinaj) I'll try to get some mini challenges in. But between reading, work and studying for my classes, I am short of spare time. And if I have spare time, I want to read. LOL.

message 83: by Barbara ★ (new)

Barbara ★ I work on the mini challenges at work when I have a spare moment (or 2 or 10 on some of them). It's a nice break from reading, reading, reading.

I am still going to try and finish the book Dead to the World (Sookie Stackhouse, #4) by Charlaine Harris before deadline :-)

Valerie Updated Post 11

Only 241 pages to go to reach my goal. I'm reading my mauve covered book now, which is 390 pages, so when I finish it, I will have met all my RaT goals.

JoLene,

Its one of the books I asked her to verify since Kindle editions are all over the place or don't state any page numbers. But in this case, Lisa Kay (LK) had a different page count, but it was a small change and she didn't want to change it in the book edition. So she said I just can refer you to her thread on the page numbers.

Sorry my mistake. I started this back in April and noted down the wrong start page when the RAT started. It's correct now.

message 96: by Barbara ★ (new)

Barbara ★ Today I'll get through both Forever (The Wolves of Mercy Falls, #3) by Maggie Stiefvater (388 pages) and Defending Jacob by William Landay (432 pages).
