Review:
So sad this trilogy is over. I've been in love with this trilogy since the beginning and found the books very addicting that I didn't want to put them down. I love the ending and am glad the bad guy got what they deserved in the end!
Words:
Stool: Jean-Baptiste perched on a wooden stool before the fire, Gaspard stood by his side, and Arthur positioned himself in front of me on the rug. (Page 11)
Pasta: I was still picking at my lasagna, attempting to move pieces of it around my plate so that Jeanne would think I had eaten. (Page 59)
Dragon: "No, the girl you love isn't offering herself to the dragon." (Page 366)
Bedroom: My mind slipped back to the scene in his bedroom, as I tried to see it from the outside. (Page 173)
Lightning: "I doubt the revenants are going to reassemble a Vincent-shaped body and then wait for a lightning storm to shock him into existence," I said. (Page 140)
Jenne wrote: "I'm dying to read that one Amy!"It was so good! You be surprised who the Champion actually was in this series.
Jenne wrote: "I hope I can squeeze it in next month!"There's also this:
I still have to read that novella told in I think Jules POV.
I updated this post that shows what we're close on. If we can try to close some of them out that'd be great! Hopefully we'll get to go 4 for 4 again this week! So far we've done good!

This was an enjoyable as the first book was. The only complaint I have is the second book is shorter than the first book. I wanted to know the possibility fate of a certain character, but I guess I'll have to wait and see if that is revealed in book three when it comes out hopefully sometime in 2014.
Items:
Bookcase: The clock in Julia's office was hidden in plain sight; she put it behind the chair where her patients sat, on top of a bookcase. (Page 10)
Pizza: He made short work of a few pieces of pizza, and he didn't have much to say. (Page 181)
Dog: And there was this dog in the middle of one of the sitting rooms in the front, a big golden retriever...and I like dogs. (Page 15)
Column: It has columns and shutters and about a hundred magnolia trees. (Page 11)
Castle: There was a massive Slip 'N Slide and a bouncy castle. (Page 12)
Jenne wrote: "Same to y'all! Amy that was fast reading :)"
Yup, if I don't have anything going for me, I can get a book of about 360 pages or less done in one day!
I finished yesterday. I'm for sure claiming stool, dog, castle, column, and I think I'll claim vegetable for food.

Review:
This was such a unique read. Rose has been asleep for 60 years and is only woken up on accident. In the time she was asleep most of the world has died off including the people she loved. Things are night and day different from when she went to sleep. Rose is the heiress to her parents company (this company practically owns the world). Now she has to find her way in this new world. An assassin is after her and she has no idea who to trust on top of trying to adapt. Mostly this story broke my heart, it was sad but it was a page turner. I would recommend this if you're in the mood for something different that's dark and will leave your brain thinking about it long after you've finished.

Updated this list Items we're close to finishingWe've got our first non called point this week with stool!!!!!
No rush or pressure, just trying to keep it in the back of our minds :)We've done good so far claiming the right stuff! Also though there's more items this round which will help the odds of what's called.
By tonight I'll have to look at what I read this week and see which I can use- had a busy week, spent the last several days working on buying a 'new to us' car. Sorry that I'll be cutting it close, and I can only hope that I find something from each category... don't want to miss out on the 'extra' credit though
Well, yes and no...Yes, we've signed on the dotted line, all the paperwork is done. We almost walked out twice to get the price we HAD to keep it under.
But, no, because the car still had to go through the 30 point inspection and two new front tires (all that jazz) to get the state, and the dealership's seal of approval (and they are doing a lifetime powertrain warranty, so they better make sure it's nice and happy before they give it to us.) AND, my grandfather's trust is paying for it, but there was an issue with the money being put into our account today- we're $1000 short until maybe tomorrow.
*Sigh* Nothing can just go smoothly, can it? And I'l l have to learn how to drive a stick shift. Luckily, this will be hubby's primary car, I'll only have to drive it in emergency situations
What a pain in the butt! Don't feel bad I don't know how to drive a stick either. Hubby makes fun of me all of the time for it.
But we didn't find out about all this until last week, and then Sunday we found out our budget, and my husband needed a new (to us) vehicle like a year ago, so we've been busy researching and looking for cars and what-not all this week (and driving to dealerships fighting rush hour traffic)
That's what I hate about car shopping. Going to all of the different dealerships and trying to make sure you're getting the best vehicle for your budget.
Ok, promise I am not making fun. But wow. I guess driving a stick shift is one of those things I take for granted. My dad refused to teach me to drive on our automatic. If I wanted to learn I had to learn on the Stick, then later I could drive the automatic. I drive an automatic now, but the knowledge is back there, like riding a bike. It just seems odd that there are people who don't know.
My parents sold our last stick shift vehicle a few years before I started learning to drive, so I've never had a stick shift to learn on. Well, my husband's current truck is stick, but it's an accident and ticket waiting to happen and I didn't want to learn on that sucker.
I was in the same boat when I started learning to drive we only had automatics. I had an x bf try to teach me and I just didn't have the patience.
Holy crap in a hand basket. The car won't be ready today, it might not even be ready tomorrow, and Sat my husband has to work and Sunday the dealership is closed. We might not get our car until Monday. That news just tanked my mood for the rest of the day.WHY? Why?WHYWHYWHYWHY
Well... I checked, and due to this whole car thing throwing a wrench in my reading/reviewing/blogging... I'm not going to be able to get the bonus this week. It's just not in my books, except for an audiobook I'm only halfway through.Sorry guys.

Review: This book is pretty long and I'm not sure what the story line point was. It kinda rambles, but it was still enjoyable. My husband's been bugging me to read this book since it came out so I'm glad I knocked it out.

Review:
Whoa. Heavy. Wow. Very... I haven't found the right word, but close ones are:
intense, heady, complex, engrossing, and compelling.
Very Brave New World feel, and even a dash of Clockwork Orange thrown in. BUT... it's just so meaty with the new world and new terms, alot to chew and digest in a story. It had a very different society and attitudes from us, like in Brave New World. It had 'society' looking down on non-society. It has levels of hierarchy within the society as well. And like Clockwork Orange, it's got 'new' words, and a glossary to go with them.
Another strange comparison that ran through my mind... the Kate Daniels series. It's similar in that there is tons of world building, so much so that there is a sacrifice, I felt of more in-depth characterization. I almost gave up during the first book of the Kate Daniels series because there was just SO much. But it was totally worth it, and I'm hooked on it. So, this is like that first Kate Daniels. I see potential, but I really think it's future books that will sway a reader to continue or swear a reader away from this series.
Another aspect that may be an automatic no-go for some readers: while this is NOT a religious book, there is much talk about religion. Religions are ALL considered cults except for 'government' church which is more of an etiquette, rules, and expectations pep-talk. I didn't find it offensive in any way, but religion is at best, frowned upon, at worst annihilated.
If you are a fan of Brave New World, Clockwork Orange, maybe even liked Delirium or The Dwellers series but want to try a 'grown-up' version, then I would recommend giving this a go.
I received an ARC via NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.

Yea!!! Sorry Alana, sounds like you're having a really rough week. We just bought hubby a new car about a month ago and I made him test drive and pick cars out because I don't have the patience for it. The only thing I was worried about were the terms on the car loan because we're paying it off as soon as we finish paying off our last credit card. I hate buying cars too, such a pain in the butt...

Wow, what a great ending to a great series. I actually teared up a little towards the end. I'm sad it's over but the ending was hashed out well and I was happy with the conclusions for the characters. In this one it's one last time of Kaylee and company vs. the hellions and all bets are off. Kaylee does not disappoint and she's really grown since this all started. I was quite impressed with Kaylee's plans to stop the hellions. Also hats off to Ms. Vincent for ending a series the way one should end, unlike *cough, cough, Sookie*!
