Reads with Scotch Aortic valve with stenosis

Nothing like freaking yourself out and letting your imagination run wild... by the time I get to a doctor I am going to be convinced I have 30 days to live...

Reads with Scotch irregular heartbeat and breathing issues... My heart rate and breathing are not matching what I am doing(sitting or laying and the heart rate is what you would expect from a steady hike or light run), along with pressure in the chest and throat. light headed spells, that come and go, none of this last more then a few seconds, over the last week.

I'm thinking it is probably just nicotine withdraw symptoms or something, but WebMD always wants you to believe you are moment from death so you go to a doctor and fund their new yacht.

Reads with Scotch This seems plausible.

I'm not in panic mode yet, just exploring the issue so I can determine if I should be. When stuff like this starts happening you tend to realize you are a few hours away from advanced life support and qualified medical personnel. We have medics and what not but still...

Tom Foolery (tomfoolery) Better have a cigarette, just in case.

hahahaha!

Yep, classic symptoms of panic attack, Nick. And of course, now you're panicking even more from reading that site. I've learned to stay away from there.

Gretchen panic attacks can last awhile. I think. Especially since Nick is aggravating it.

Kasia Go have it checked! Looking up stuff online just feeds your hypochondria... If it is an actual heart issue: you need the specialists anyways. If it is a panic attack: way to get over it, is to rationalize the whole thing. Acknowledge that it's only you conjuring the panic attack, and learn to relax.

Having someone in scrubs tell you all this helps to get in the right frame of mind fast. And with panic attacks, there is no danger, but the physical symptoms are still very real.

That said, what you have is, probably, a bad case of webMD. With panic attacks there's more drama (usually), plus the symptoms would be 10 times worse than what you describe...

In summary: stay away from webMD!

Yeah, what exactly do you do if you decide you want something like this checked out? Go into the nearest city and check into a motel near the hospital? Get the test results, breathe a sigh of relief and go home?

Reads with Scotch Nah, i have seen the Sopranos and this isn't a "panic attack" It is a lot less intrusive then that, and it happens a few times a day. I'm not falling over or passing out. I just know something is out of whack.

Lori Get thee to a doctor then, Nick. A human version. Don't mess around.

message 12: by Kasia (new)

Kasia Yes, have it all checked out, that's what the doctors are for.

Reads with Scotch eh, I'll get there, in... what is today Tuesday? ok I'll go see one in 9 days. I mean what is the worse that could happen? I drop dead and screw some bank out of a couple tax dollars pfft.

Lori Hopefully, your better half will beat some sense into you! Again.

Reads with Scotch Again it isn't like the doctor is right down the road. I made an appointment, I haven't passed out or had and sharp pains or anything major. just indications that something is out of tilt. So When I get home I'll go. as much as I hate doctors the basters have a death grip on the market of identifying health issues.

message 16: by Lori (new)

Lori Oh me too. I never run to the doctor. But unfortunately, I learned to do so the hard way.

Ah so you must be up in the arctic, Nick. Glad you made an appt for when you get home.
