Tatiana, Pehel and I will start reading the series on May 11.

Feel free to join us :)

Tati this time around I'm going to take notes on the characters and events. As the series moves on, it gets hard to keep track of everything.

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

Me too. I forgot the names of the other main characters :)

message 4: by Pahel (new)

Pahel | 285 comments Seriously, itz kind of confusing with so many characters and details!

Jacques du Plessis | 11 comments I am totally 100% up for a reread. I kind of have this A Song of Ice and Fire addiction which leads me to remember tons of fact about the series and a lot of asoiaf history. I'm pretty much a complete nerd when it comes to this series xD

message 6: by [deleted user] (new)

@Pehel, if ever there will be a test about GOT, im sure to fail it lol

Jacques du Plessis | 11 comments When it comes to books like GOT that have a large amount of content it gets tricky sometimes. However it just takes a bit of practice in reading those types of books. The all time most complex series. is Malazan Book of the Fallen, it's insane how much background information and characters there are.

Jacques du Plessis | 11 comments If something is confusing http://www.tor.com/features/series/a-... will probably help as the explanations are very clear.

Pahel | 285 comments Who all love Arya here? :D Isn't she amazing!?

message 10: by Tati (new) - rated it 5 stars

Tati I love her, but she does go through a lot in the books. I also love Tyrion, both on the book and on the TV show.

message 11: by [deleted user] (new)

@Jacques it's a good thing Martin included maps and the houses in the book :)

@Pehel, I love Arya too :)

@Tatiana at first I didn't like Tyrion but as the story progresses, I think I'm falling for the imp lol

Love Tyrion! He is the best! I also love Arya. I can't stand her sister though!

Jenny (juliababyjen) I haven't read this series at all, but its on my TBR for 2013, so I will join you guys!

message 17: by Tati (new) - rated it 5 stars

Tati Oh yes!! Bring it on!

message 18: by Kyra (new) - rated it 5 stars

Kyra I finished Part two of a Dance with Dragons back in March, so I don't exactly remember what happened in the first book. I also love Arya, Tyrion and even Sansa, feeling like the minority here (: Someone should make a thread for the tv show !

message 19: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh, don't worry, i also love Tyrion and Arya, Sansa-not so much lol

Will post updates tomorrow :)

message 20: by [deleted user] (new)

6% :)

message 21: by [deleted user] (new)

I forgot how young the characters are. Eddard is only 35 years old..

message 22: by Pahel (new)

Pahel | 285 comments Hey anyone know what age is Gendry? I'm watching season 3 right now :D
Just started the book yesterday!

message 23: by [deleted user] (new)

I don't know yet, haven't reached that part of the story :)

message 24: by [deleted user] (new)

What the king dreams, the hand builds - Ned Stark

Tati Leslie wrote: "I forgot how young the characters are. Eddard is only 35 years old.."

And that is what makes what happens to the Stark children even more shocking.

I'm going slowly, as I'm taking notes.

I'm taking it slow too, I was half way done with it a few months ago, but I started to read it again from the beginning and I realized I missed on some things :) Like the age..and Sansa is only 11 :)

message 27: by Tati (new) - rated it 5 stars

Tati How is everyone doing?

I'm still on Chapter 5, as I keep stopping to take notes.

message 28: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm on chapter nine. The Lannisters are still in Winterfell.

Jenny (juliababyjen) I'm about 11% in. Good so far, I'm already absorbed in it!

message 30: by [deleted user] (new)

Winter is coming..

I like this line lol

message 31: by Jodi (new) - rated it 5 stars

Jodi (readinbooks) | 327 comments I am not reading this with you because I read it in March but I love, love, loved this book and I hope you all love it too.

Jamie and Cersei Lannister seem to follow the footsteps of Targaryens..the relationship between siblings.

Even though they're kind of evil, I think itz really sweet that Jaime didn't cheat on Cersei even though in their world men usually slept with so many women! :)
Cersei on the other hand is srsly a bitch.

Yes, I agree with you. At first, I didn't like Jamie because of his smug attitude and (view spoiler) but he's always fond of Tyrion and for that I started to like him too.

The things I do for love.. ~ Jamie Lannister

message 40: by Tati (new) - rated it 5 stars

Tati as for Jaime, I think I only started to like him in the third book, with all that he goes through

Jacques du Plessis | 11 comments Tatiana wrote: "as for Jaime, I think I only started to like him in the third book, with all that he goes through"

Yea, he is so betrayed and conflicted with his brother killing his father. I like his as he progresses in the story.

Spoiler! hahaha just kidding :)

Jacques du Plessis | 11 comments One of my favorite quotes of the series is “A reader lives a thousand lives before he dies, said Jojen. The man who never reads lives only one.”

message 48: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh, I might have missed that one or it wasn't mentioned lol

message 49: by Tati (new) - rated it 5 stars

Tati It is mentioned, I think.

message 50: by [deleted user] (new)

Yikes. Now I'm tempted to look for it.

I can't believe Ser Jorah Mormont is a spy. I relied too much on the show or I missed that one again..
