Sabrina Is that ending not surprising? Halfway through the book I hated Maxon, then I understood though I was still a little upset, and now I honestly don't quite know what to think! What about the rest of you?

Eml I like Maxon the most out of all the characters. America is the definition of an unreliable narrator.

I would consider the ending surprising. In addition to the big reveal about Maxon being canned by his father, I didnt expect them to turn America around in the last second. Although even as she was leaving the Palace I was thinking to myself what on earth is she going to do when she gets home? The only thing that came to mind was joining the rebels.

True, Im having trouble grasping onto any of the characters, except for maybe Maxon. I really hope "The One" turns it all around, the ending sure showed potential of America looking beyond her schizophrenic Feelings, and some Bad-ass performances. Fingers crossed.

Somehow Cass even got me to dislike Aspen. I've never been one of his haters, but I can't say I'm in love with him after the Elite. I don't know, at one point I hated all three main characters, but by the end I went back to liking Maxon. He's the only stand-up character with an ability to make things better. America is too self-absorbed.

Rachel (APCB Reviews) The ending of The Elite was exactly like the ending of the 1st book. It was annoying, but at the same time this ending shows more promise. America knows who she wants and now she will fight for him :) That is soooooo adorable.

Ilana i wasn't overly surprised by the ending the more that i think about it. i think that one of the things that i was challenged with this time around is that we get a lot of that teen angst in The Elite which reminds us that America is only 18...so you can't fault her for being so wishy washy. i'm glad that a lot of stuff came out in the end of this book but i wonder what that will bring for The One.

Rachel (APCB Reviews) I was kind of hoping/ thinking that the end of this book would be Maxon proposing, or at least more than just two people being sent home! That part was very annoying, only TWO people were eliminated. Then I thought that The One would focus on America being trained as Princess and stuff. (Guess I was wrong)

Rachel Levine I didn't find it surprising at all. The only thing about the book that I found surprising was that America was being so selfish and jealous and indecisive. After about half way the the book with her like that I knew she was going to mess things up some way or another. And as for the whole "the founder's a fraud" thing, I show that coming in the first book when they mentioned the lack of textbooks. The only thing that surprised me,but shouldn't have, was that his father canes him.

Brittany I just think she needs to quit sneaking around with Aspen because even if it came to that point if and when they decide to just be friends or not I feel like she is gonna ruin things with Maxon or something bad is just gonna happen if she continues to sneak! No sneaking! Lol.

Alexia -- In this book i kind of had a little hate towards Maxon but i cant really blame him he cant sit down and wait for America to make a decision so he started a relationship with someone else and if it took jealousy or her almost leaving the competition for her to see that she wants he then s be it.

Laura Benitez I was especting something more. it ends a little bit like the first book. I didn't hate maxon at all cause I knew he loves America he's just having a crush with Kriss. And dirty dreams with Celeste. It's normal c'mon. It didn't surprised me, he did something like that. But what really surprised me was the King. I was like.... Are sure that's Maxon's dad??? How can a dad torture his own son?? that was incredible, didn't expect that!
but afther all was a really good book

Renee IT CANT BE THE END!!! Do you think they'll write another? i hope so. and i <3 maxon. he's the best. loved him the whole time.

Victoria No offense, but the ending of this book was horrible. Like I personally think that America should just go home. Both of the "boys" (I would call them men, but they aren't acting like it) have been messing with America's head. Like yes, I know she has been messing with theirs, but dang c'mon. I know Aspen is hiding something. I feel like he may be part of the rebels, maybe that is how they are getting in so silently. Have you noticed that they are becoming sneakier? In the sense that they are advancing much farther than the last attack. But anyways, something about Maxon in the end tipped me off. Like I am not even sure if I want America to be with either of them. The King made me furious. Like who are you to judge a seventeen year old girl, and its not even in your place to get rid of her, its Maxons choice.

Night I love the Elite. But like many others I found the indescision on Americas part to be annoying and at times childish. I respect her though, She never gives up. I was shocked when Maxon revealled the truth. I felt like .... I'm not really sure. All I can say is

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT? 2014 REALLY!?

I think the final book better end with America choosing Maxon. But if she chooses Aspen what was the point of the Selection? I feel it would be a betrayel of Maxon. She knows now that he is hers alone all she has to say is "I love you" and its over. I think she would be great as Queen/princess she compliments Maxon she is strong willed like him. they are good together I loved when he displayed his love for her (the beating he receives from his father) I think this strengthens the bond between Maxon and America. that's my guess anyway.

Aspen better not win. I like him but he has let her down before. Maxon will always be there for her.

Remember he also said she'd have to work to gain his trust?

Ikao I don't like Maxon, I don't hate him either.
It's America who I could't stand. She betrayed Maxon for Aspen many times. Maxon has time and limited choices, if he couldn't get America, he only has 3 remaining choice for his life because it's not weird to make 2nd Selection. I understand his act.

Jaelyn Team Maxon. I find Aspen and America's romance a little annoying and stereotypical, girl falls for brother's friends. I think Maxon has the right to be upset with America, and have feelings for Kriss but, the King is completely out of line-I cannot wait for The One, next year.

Victoria Was anyone else annoyed with America? Maxon was fighting for her, but then her dumb indecisive self took forever to finally find her true feelings for him. In a way I felt that she said "I love you" a little to late. Does anyone else agree? In a way she pushed him away by doing that, so I could understand why Maxons sort of started to move on.
Also the King is just horrible. How could you treat your son like that? I don't care if he has major authority, he has no right to act the way. I hope the Queen finds out about all of this in the next book...
The One please hurry up and come out!!

MissIntegrity The ending was more than a little confusing. When I first read this series it was like "oh this is amazing" but now its like "ohh, theres going to be another one" and thats weird because normally i like the series i read to drag on as long as possible but with the America's endless doubts and insecurities it starts to get more than a little annoying and i still dont understand why the heck she sold Maxon down the river infront of the whole country
