Maliades oh yay! I'm reading I Capture the Castle for the Spring challenge so I might actually have started it by the time May rolls around! woohoo!

Am going to have to start reading my library books according to date they are due back at the library... I paid $1.25 in late fees today too, not much but still!

message 252: by Sara ♥ (new)

Sara ♥ (saranicole) Honestly, I'm a little scared about all the hype now... I'm trying not to expect too much, so I won't be disappointed... I'm sure it will be lovely.

message 253: by Sara ♥ (new)

Sara ♥ (saranicole) No worries. I'm really good at having low expectations... ;) Hahaha...

Janny (jannywurts) | 142 comments People of the Book was on the shelf at the library today - snapped it up! Which is good, because I wanted to find Shadow of the Wind, and it was unavailable.

I also got Don't Let's Go to the Dogs Tonight An African Childhood, which will have to be read fast for my local book club.

OMG, I wish... I want to read it for the spring challenge (G/R 25 pointer...) with Rhett Butler's People as the "r" but I am not sure that I have the time/ willpower to read that much...

message 258: by Natalee (new)

Natalee (nataleem00) | 79 comments Wooo Hooo! I Capture the Castle won.... I didnt vote for it since I am smack-dab in the middle of it and hope to finish this weekend. But I am happy it won... it puts me ahead and now maybe I can keep up with the rest of the kids in class. :)
It's a great book and I think Fiona will be happy next month when everyone says how much they like it.

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) I just got my copy of ICTC too! I even made a spot for it in the Spring Challenge... I'm so excited!
Thank you Kandice! :D

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) Fiona wrote: "What do you think of it just looking through it?"

I haven't looked through it at all yet.

message 266: by Melissa (new)

Melissa (melitious) I just put The People of the Book on hold for myself at the library. Maybe I can get an early start!

message 267: by Jeane (new)

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments I don't think I will be reading these months choices. Don't know them very well, but mainly because I ahve a pile of library books and a pile of bought books.

message 268: by Kate (new)

Kate (kathrynlouwca) You know, Fiona, you are very confusing... first you are worried about everyone hating you for winning and possibly making a bad rec. Then you "glare" at Jeane for not reading it... hard to follow... to read or not to read, that is the question! lol, I'm just teasing you!

message 269: by Kate (new)

Kate (kathrynlouwca) I will try to squeeze it in... I get so obsessed with the spring challenge, I never read the group read...

message 270: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Really, she just thinks it fun to glare!

There is bound to be someone who wont like it, but it is a really lovely book, and she is a great reccomender. That being said, she's NOT a good glarer.

message 271: by Kate (new)

Kate (kathrynlouwca) Maybe if you did something other then * * because that is kind of cheerful looking...

message 272: by Kate (new)

Kate (kathrynlouwca) Yeah, that is a better glare.

message 273: by Kandice (new)

Kandice Or:

((((((((((((((((((((GLARE))))))))))))))))))))

message 274: by Kandice (new)

Kandice I think it looks spooky! Like you are trying to hypnotize them... Look into my eyes...

message 275: by Allison (new)

Allison (inconceivably) O_o

Jeane (icegini) | 4891 comments Fiona wrote: "*glares at Jeane* Wotchoo mean?!"

And have a t least ten bought books here which I need to read because there is a 50% change that in june i am going to italy, but for sure end august and want thos ebooks to be read so I can bring them to italy and have space here to buy new ones. And I am not buying in books for now, for myself.

haha, girls I got it! I understood but please don't go on. i am not reading it now, but don't practise the glaring before Lori orders me to read it so you would stop. oeps, shut up Jeane, how stupid was that???? kicks herself.

message 279: by Anna (new)

Anna Shumaker (annashu) I think I might have read People of the Book but then I realized I had the narrator confused with The Thirteenth Tale If I have read it it would have been right before I started keeping a book journal for this very purpose.
