I know. That's one of the things I like about the group, most everyone has a good sense of humor.

Sara ♥ (saranicole) I've voted for my adult pick... I'm going to wait a little longer before I cast my vote for the YA pick. When do the polls close?

EDIT: *cough* Oh, look! If I go back and read the first post, I can get all the answers.... April 20th...

Eva, I live in Kentucky, and the book fest is the Southern Kentucky Book Fest in Bowling Green, KY. I will ask Ms. Hopkins about the third Kristina book. If you don't mind, I'm going to add you as a friend, and if you'd send me a reminder to get back to you about this, I will remember to.

message 158: by Eva-Marie (new)

Eva-Marie Nevarez (evamarie3578) I don't mind at all- I actually just accepted it! :)
I think that message I have up is a bit of a deterrant with people go to add me but it's meant for spammers and friend collecters only so I'm glad you didn't pay any attention to that! LOL
Oh boy- I feel like taking an inpromptu trip to Kentucky now!
Gosh- I get all the authors here that I don't read. :( The only authors that have come here that I read (that I know of) are Laurie Halse Anderson (who I hadn't read at the time but have since and am glad I met her) and Dwayne S. Joseph (an urban fiction author and I ended up missing him anyway!).
Hopefully, when I if I do end up moving to Texas, being in a bigger state will help with this! :O

Yasmine - Zoinks!

I should make a Timeout folder... for people who fail to follow the rules on the noms and posting. Kinda like a DunceCap kinda time out zone.....

Allison (inconceivably) LOL Lori!!

message 161: by Fiona (Titch) (new)

Fiona (Titch) Hunt (titch) I voted on both Categories Lori xx

message 162: by Lydia (new)

Lydia (theeclecticstack) I voted for Fahrenheit 451. I have never read that before. But I've heard good things about it.

Elizabeth (Alaska) I noticed one YA clearly in the lead, but the vote for the regular read is all over the place. Interesting.

message 164: by Tammy AZ (new)

Tammy AZ (tammyaz) Cat 1 - Christine Falls, Benjamin Black

message 165: by Jamie (new)

Jamie Tammy - I guess you didn't notice that we are now voting for our May selection. You need to go to the poll section if you'd like to vote.

message 169: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) Maybe you should change the title of the thread to: NOMINATIONS CLOSED - GO VOTE NOW.

message 170: by Lori, Super Mod (new)

Lori (tnbbc) | 10631 comments Mod
But but but... It doesnt say nominate anywhere in it! It only says VOTE.....

message 171: by Kandice (new)

Kandice You would also have to mention POLL or they still wouldn't get it...

message 172: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) True. How about: NOMINATIONS? WHAT NOMINATIONS, WE'RE VOTING IN THE *POLL* NOW.

message 173: by Kandice (new)

Kandice That may work, but I would not hold my breath. Lori shouldn't either, but she already knows... *sighs*

message 175: by [deleted user] (new)

Butt kicking is going on in the YA. 35 votes for ICTC!

message 176: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) Yeah, I changed my vote to ICTC from Blue is for Nightmares. Cause, Kandice is sending it to me, I think. (Was that what you and Allison decided on K?)

message 177: by Sara ♥ (new)

Sara ♥ (saranicole) I voted for an underdog, since I'm already reading ICTC right now. I'm only on like... chapter 5, but still. I'd rather pick one I haven't read (or won't have read by May 1).

Jackie (thenightowl) Becky wrote: "Yeah, I changed my vote to ICTC from Blue is for Nightmares. Cause, Kandice is sending it to me, I think. (Was that what you and Allison decided on K?)"

Yeah Becky, Kandice is sending to you and Allison is sending me her copy. Either way we both win and score a free copy :-)

message 179: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) Cool. I hope it's as good as Fi says!

message 180: by Jackie (new)

Jackie (thenightowl) It better be after all that shameless plugging she's done. LOL.

message 182: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) Why are you hiding in a crack under that rock? One would think that you feel guilty for providing bad recommendations, which we hope isn't the case! ;)

message 183: by Kandice (new)

Kandice She's ashamed of her book spamming. She's such a "nice" English girl!!!

hahaha, do you think THAT could be the case with Fiona?????

message 185: by April (new)

April (booksandwine) | 954 comments I LOVED I Capture The Castle, so I doubt it's because she's given bad recs, actually she has great taste in books. I think maybe she's feeling idk, sheepish because it's going to win! :-P

Agreed!

message 188: by Becky (new)

Becky (beckyofthe19and9) I'll tell you soon enough though... Kandice sent it to me already, so I'll read it and then all will be well and you can come out of the crack under that rock. Birds are not meant to live in cracks under rocks. They are meant to be free!

message 189: by Mosca (last edited Apr 18, 2009 03:10PM) (new)

Mosca | 828 comments April, I agree with you. Fiona has great taste in books.

I Capture the Castle is an excellent book and a pleasure to read. I've also read two other books on Fiona's recommendation--Atonement by Ian McEwan and The Piano Tuner A Novel by Daniel Mason. And I'm very greatful for those recommendations.

It looks like ICTC is going to trounce my hopeful--The Wind in the Willows--which I haven't already read.

:( pout :(

But if anybody chooses to read ICTC, they're in for a treat.

wow. so im checking out the polls and i dont think we have a winning book with SO MANY votes before! The YA favorite is crushing the competition.....

overall, i think this month has pulled the most votes of any other group read poll in the past.... Thank you everyone for your participation!!!!

We still a little more time, but I can safely assume who the winning books are...

message 200: by Marion (new)
