The Storyteller
question
Anyone else finish this yet ?

I think this is one of her very best works, I love that it is present day, history ,family ties and emotions as well as discovering more about what others see in us !

How can we love a book that tells in graphic details a horrible, horrible time in history? But love it we do. Her telling in, what, five voices gives such different insights into the story. AND keeps us on our memory-toes. I found myself trying to see if I "missed" something in the telling that would have revealed the surprise ending early. But no, I don't think so. Ms Piccoult is a much much better writer than I am.

This book was really interesting. What I love about Picoult is the twist ending that many of her novels have near the end, and the ethical questions that many of them raise. "The Storyteller was no exception. They are wonderful subjects for reading groups.
I found this at the airport, before it was published in the UK. Read it on the plane to London from Rome, and then my train back from London to home. Finished it in one day. The only Picoult book I have ever done that with.
For those of you that liked this book because it dealt with the Holocaust and that time in history, let me recommend The Winter Garden by Kristin Hannah. It was in my opinion even better than this book. It starts out kinda slow so you have to stick with it but it is well worth the read. :)
I really enjoyed reading this book and liked the twist at the end. The past, present and a child's story all coming together as one story was fantastic. This was my second book of JP.The first being-Change of Heart.
I am NOT a big fan of JP, but thought this was a great book! Very different from her others.
No book is perfect, but I am a huge fan of Jodi Picoult. Overall, I believe The Storyteller is a wonderful, emotional book. I cried 3 times while reading it, and yet, the power of Jodi's writing is the hope that comes through.
I am a fan of Jodi Picoult but as many have said, some of her books have become predictable, and for myself, I was interested in some more than others. But as soon as I heard that the book for 2013 was going to have a Holocaust theme, I knew I would have to read it. I was lucky enough to see her during her book tour, and although I had seen her several times before, this presentation was by far her best one. She described the research and the connection that she had to this story and was quite open to answering questions. Her reading was spectacular and the audience of over 400 was mesmerized. I read the book after the presentation, and I was totally engrossed. It is by far, in my opinion, her best book because of the research, the importance of the topic, and the way she interwove the parallel stories and the differing points of view of the characters. I loved this book, as much as one can "love" a book about this time in history. I have recommended it to many of my friends!
I actually listened to the audio version and I have to say that I really enjoyed it. It was like listening to 3 different books in one. For the most part I really enjoy her writing style, but I am sometimes disappointed by the endings.
I loved this book, just like all of Jodi's books I have read. She always does an incredible amount of research and her characters have such depth. I think her books are getting better and better. My favorite aspect of Jodi's books are the endings. You find yourself looking at each character and the decisions they made. I feel like I step into her stories. I can't wait for the next one.
I think it's good...but not her best. But it's one of her better ones for sure.
I got this as a gift not knowing the storyline at all....being moderately obsessed with the holocaust I was immediately absorbed in this book.
I have read ALL of Jodi Picoult's books and I thought this one was great! I obviously knew about the Holocaust, but not how horrific it really was. She always makes you think.
I have read a lot of her books. Loved her early books but found her last few a bit predictable. Having said that, I LOVED this book. This book reminds me of why I fell in love with her in the first place.
This was also my first Jodi Picoult's books and I enjoyed it very much. Will be reading more of her work.

I've read ALL of her books and The Storyteller is probably my 2nd favourite of hers. (Behind My Sister's Keeper ofcourse!)
Perfect Match is an excellent book. It was my first by Jodi Picoult and got me reading all the rest.
I loved it! It's definitely my favourite by hers. It was very different to her usual formulaic structure which is why it was so fantastic.
