looking at your read list I'd suggest The Night Circus, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night, Game of Thrones or something fantasy based.

some of my favorites are the book thief the help the hobbit lord of the rings little women the diary of Anne Frank Les Miserable hope that helps!

If Les Miserables is a favourite then a Suitable boy is a modern version set in India.

Have you tried anything my Melvin Burgess or Kevin Brooks? Both are spectacular authors.
