Jordan Urtso (jordanurtso) | 8 comments "The Great Gatsby" because it never gets old, "The Hunger Games" just in case I need to learn how to hunt, and "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" because it's the one book I have been dying to read for months.

message 2: by Leilani (new)

Leilani | 19 comments "The Lightning Theif", because it is my favorite book of all time.
"Sea of Monsters", because i need the the sequel to the "Lightning Theif".
And finally the "Titan's Curse" because the "Sea of Monsters" ends in a cliff hanger.

If there was not a limit to how many books I would bring, I think i would bring every book that i have ever read with me and maybe some interesting new books that i've had my eyes on.

message 3: by [deleted user] (new)

I would bring my iPod so I can read as many books as I want to

message 4: by Jordan (new)

Jordan Urtso (jordanurtso) | 8 comments Lol in that case, I'd bring my Kindle. Too bad there wouldn't be Internet connection :/

message 5: by [deleted user] (new)

message 8: by Isabelle (new)

Isabelle (izzie5525) The Sight because its my favorite book, Inheritance because its a big book and would keep me busy for at least a couple days, and a book about surviving on islands

message 9: by Jordan (new)

Jordan Urtso (jordanurtso) | 8 comments Very true! I'd spend all my $$ on e-books before I left because, I mean, I'd never need $$ again. :)

message 10: by Jordan (new)

Jordan Urtso (jordanurtso) | 8 comments And yes, lol, no electricity either. No matter what books I had with me, I'm not sure I could survive without a microwave or shower haha

message 11: by Isabelle (new)

Isabelle (izzie5525) What if your nook/kindle died!?!?!? ran out of battery, got sand in it, fell into the water...

message 12: by Sydney (new)

Sydney Wallace | 22 comments I would bring
The Stand by Stephen King , Mantra The Rules of Indulgence by Jehangir Mehta because it's such a beautiful book to look at, and one, very thick, very long book I hadn't read yet. :)

message 17: by Dean (new)

Dean MacAllister (deanmacallister) One book would have a reading light...that I could signal ships with.
The second book I would use as a hat, protection from the sun.
The Third would book would be a flotation device, maybe a childs bath book.

message 18: by Melissa (new)

Melissa (missams) | 59 comments Well this is such a hard question to answer. This might be cheating but I might have to go with one of the Nora Robert's trilogies. I guess the circle trilogy. I will have that a three books in one, to be the first book. Then my second book would be whatever I am currently reading, the one thing I would hate the most would be to leave a book unfinished, especially if I am enjoying the book. I would then bring a survival book. I know that I will need it. I might be good at camping, but I will need to a book to help me identify plants that I can eat, and give tips to help me survive living on an island.

message 19: by Ashley (new)

Ashley | 38 comments Um...I'll download all my favourite books then bring my iPad then I'll bring my iPad charger then I'd bring some sort of solar powered thing that can charge my iPad. Is that cheating?

message 20: by Brittany (new)

Brittany Perry | 229 comments Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings all three in one book, Infinity by Sherrilyn Kenyon

message 21: by Melissa (new)

Melissa (missams) | 59 comments Brittany wrote: "Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings all three in one book, Infinity by Sherrilyn Kenyon"

I never thought about the Lord of the Rings. That is a pretty thick book is you combine all three together. Good choice.

message 24: by Olivia (last edited Apr 26, 2013 10:55PM) (new)

Olivia (ice-cubey) | 21 comments Okay so I'd combine all of Cassandra Clare's books (even the ones that haven't come out yet; lets just say they have okay? okay) into one book,"How To Survive Being Stranded on a Desert Island", and.....jfc this is so difficult.....maybe the whole Percy Jackson series combined into one.

message 25: by Laura (new)

Laura | 168 comments Im assuming I've had survival training lol

I would take a bible Im not religious but I've not read it all and it would keep me busy

the complete works of Shakespeare so I can act it out

and maybe the millennium series as a change of pace

message 26: by Brittany (new)

Brittany Perry | 229 comments Oh drat I own a huge book with all Shakespeare's works I will take out Infinity for that. Though I do it with a heavy heart

Yeah especially when it contains all the notes for the series.I love it. I use it as my reading copy so my others don't get ruined. It is a doorstopper big book.

message 28: by Christine (new)

Christine (MissWinterly) | 18 comments Inkheart (book of my childhood, how can I NOT take it?), His Dark Materials trilogy all in one, Inheritance (haven't read it yet)

message 29: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca (hobbitual_reader) His Dark Materials Trilogy, Life of Pi, and The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. I know that's technically 7 books, but if I take them all in one, it counts as 3 ;)

message 30: by мєℓ (new)

мєℓ Let's do it well then...
I would go for a trilogy probably. Considering that I would surely turn mad talking to myself, I want to speak out loud with good characters. That's why I choose:

The Hunger Games
Catching Fire
Mockingjay

message 31: by Robert (new)

Robert Spake (ManofYesterday) | 61 comments Well, either I'd want books that I can see myself re-reading often or books that are stupidly long to keep me occupied.

I'd definitely take The Odyssey. I also might mix it up and take a graphic novel, probably Watchmen (although it would be hard not to have any Spider-Man to read) and then for my third one...maybe a big collection of short stories so there's some variety, probably Tennessee Williams.

I'd also consider having an audiobook so I'd at least get to listen to another human's voice.

message 32: by Ashley (new)

Ashley (anbarnett) complete collection of Jane Austen...twisted perfection...and the tiger's curse books

message 33: by Carrie (new)

Carrie (carriewag) | 8 comments Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (or the whole series if that's legal), one of those giant F. Scott Fitzgerald books with both short stories and a few of his novels, and The Bible.

message 34: by Nyakim (new)

Nyakim | 3 comments Only three books!Hard to choose, I like so many books but I'd probably bring The Memory keepers Daughter by Kim edwards because the writngs rich and the story never gets old, bridget Jones Diary and the housemaid and the professor

message 35: by N (new)

N | 276 comments so presumably we are not stuck forever but a long time?

message 40: by Tichakorn (new)

Tichakorn Hill (TichakornHill) | 2 comments 1. How to Survive Anything, Anywhere (for the obvious reason)
2. Confessions of a Shopaholic (so I can relive my previous life before being stranded on the island)
3. Pride and Prejudice (so I can dream of being in Mr. Darcy's arms -- okay, Colin Firth's arms -- while trying to stay sane)

message 41: by [deleted user] (new)

the Bible the help and the book thief!!!!:)

message 42: by Willett (new)

Willett Thomas | 22 comments My three in progress novels (these don't count). Works of Louise Erdrich, Doris Lessing (because every time I run into writer friends these are the two writers they're always reading), and all of Capote because he knew how to tell a good tale. And, of course, someone (preferably male--just because it might be long stay) brilliant and good with their hands to read out loud to.

Raised by Hand, Lifted by the Tides a Southern Child's Memoir by Willett Thomas

message 43: by Ann (new)

Ann (booklass21) | 5 comments -something about life, like The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho

-and something hilarious like Tumbling Through Time by Gwyn Cready

:)

message 44: by Jackie Lynn (new)

Jackie Lynn (romancenovlover) This is a very difficult question! Haha. I would probably bring The Rose Garden by Susanna Kearsley, one of Eloisa James' books, and probably Romeo and Juliet just so I can have a romantic classic.

message 45: by Abby (new)

Abby Pauig | 37 comments The Bible
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
The perks of being a wallflower

message 46: by Sarah (last edited Apr 29, 2013 06:22PM) (new)

Sarah McMillan | 111 comments 1. The Complete Novels of Jane Austen by Jane Austen The complete works of Jane Austen, because no matter how many times I read P and P I can't help but read it again. Also it can't hurt to have the others as well just for amusement.

2. Balefire (Balefire, #1-4) by Cate Tiernan Balefire Omnibus because there is just something about how Cate Tiernan writes.

3. You Slay Me (Aisling Grey Guardian, #1) by Katie MacAlister Katie MacAlister's Guardian series all in one. Will need a little comic relife and who doesn't love Jim?

message 47: by emma (new)

emma (8765443289) 1. Anna and the French Kiss (to make me laugh, love, and smile)
2. Dash & Lily's Book of Dares ( to remind me off the snow and Christmas romance)
3. Gallagher Girl Books ( to help me think of a cool badass way to get OFF the island)

message 48: by Shayne (new)

Shayne McGrath Either Divergent because its my favourite dystopian romance book of all time and Tobias is my boyfriend or The Hunger Games because even though I have read them 3 times they still give me chills and Peeta is another one of eighteen boyfriends. Or I would bring the Mortal Instruments because they're my third fave series and with there being 5 so far all having 500-550 pages they would entertain me and take care of the time

message 49: by Jude (new)

Jude | 21 comments I would bring Gone, the dancing bear and the dead
kind of strange coming from a nine year old Huh.

message 50: by Leah (new)

Leah Lindeman (leahtlind) | 12 comments The Bible, Ishmael, and the complete works of William Wordsworth.
