Yeah, I'm pretty afraid of Lea, myself. LOL!
#6- in latter books you'll find out, what the gift was. Also, Lea comes in handy in later books. I really didn't warm up to Susan, I was anry at what she put Harry through, however next time she appears in the series she is a more likeable character. I kknow what happens to Susan but I'm not going to spoil it for you! You'll find out, eventually...

Listening to Grave Peril now. Currently on chapter 7. Can't wait to get to the discussion questions.
How do you like it so far?
It's pretty good. Lots of action right out of the gate. I'm at the bit where Harry is talking to Morty.Not sure what I think of Michael yet. He is a bit too goody goody and his wife irritates me. I guess she thinks her perfect husband can't get into trouble without Harry's help.

Answers to DQ for chapter 1-21. I got the impression that Michael at least knows who Elaine is even if he didn't know her personally. I'm really interested in his back story with Harry. I initially thought he might be a Knight Templar because of his robe but it is said that he is a Knight of the Cross.
2 and 3. Not sure but I'm starting to think it has something to do with Harry's mentor - the one who he killed.
4. I think Lydia is the real deal. It makes sense that Harry would doubt her because she is like Cassandra - a prophetess whom no one believes.
5. If she's a fairy Godmother I'd hate to see the wicked witch. I wonder what would make Harry's mother make a contract with her and Harry for that mother. We really need more info on Harry 's parents and his past.
7. I think he cares about her but love shouldn't really be that difficult. If he really loved her, he should be able to say it.
8. Probably. She will seduce him into taking her.

Up to chapter 23 now. It is really tempting to look at all the spoilers but I'm being a good girl and avoiding them. That Lea is something else. I can't help wondering what she wants from Harry and how the heck he is going to get out of (view spoiler). The only thing that I can think of is that (view spoiler).
The vampires are also up to something and now both Bianca and Kyle have it in for Harry. That scene in the warehouse with Kelly was very freaky - the whole (view spoiler) thing gave me the heebie jeebies not to mention the (view spoiler).
Poor Murphy! (view spoiler). I really love how Harry sees her with his True Sight.

Finished Grave Peril. After careful consideration of the plot and characters, I must confess that I enjoyed Fool Moon more. Here's My Review.

Lol! I stopped counting the number of times Harry mentioned someone's back arching and nipples puckering.
He is always noticing women's breast or anything sexy about them ! but I guess that's the real way a man's brain works :DOff to read your review ,Lauren
I remember my husband (who was real conservative) and I were listening to something on PBS ratio and they were talking about the number of times a day a man thinks of sex. I turned to him and asked, "Really? That's really the average?" He always thought before he answered anything. I'm sure he was doing the math in his head. Eventually he turned and looked at me and said, "Yes."
Lol! That reminds me of the movie Simply Irresistible where the heroine learns (from the radio I think) that every time a man adjusts his belt he's thinking of sex. This leads to some very funny belt watching scenes.
I've never seen that one, Lauren. I'll have to look out for it. LOL!
I just started yesterday. I'm not going to look at the spoilers yet. I just got through the opening scenes with the ghost in the nursery. Happy is about to go chase the ghost in the Nevernever. I'm not real fond of scenes that put children in peril though. Hopefully the book will go a different direction.
