But you'd still see all the girls on campus with Twilight gear. Oh, don't you go to my college?
I agree. I prefer the quotes by Plato, Socrates and Aristotle. The ones that actually mean something.

I agree! However I would love to read quotes linked to a book in the area where I am looking at a book or see them on the authors page rather than in a list of quotes. That way the fans of a book can share their favorites with others that are interested in that book.

Sometimes the community is not so wonderful!

I don't mind seeing the books so much as all the other merchandise. I think a part of me died when I saw "Team Edward" underwear for sale in the bookstore!
[Note: I read and enjoyed Twilight, as pure fluff, ... but underwear, ugh!]

Fess up!! You didn't say which bookstore... I want a pair too!! *barf*

But yeah, not Twilight. I mean, I was conned into reading it and it's not nearly as horrible as the Da Vinci Code (mainly for the same reason the Wuthering Heights is -for me- better than Jane Eyre, namely that "the supernatural stuff" is SUPPOSED to be a part of the story, not just something to be used to fill plotholes).
So my point was, would it be possible to add a button for individual users that would, for example "ignore Stephanie Meyer", "ignore Oprah booklists" or "ignore "vampire""? where maybe the part to ignore can be filled in by the user, otherwise there'd me a monster list of ignore's to choose from, and most of it would eventually overlap...? or is that just wishful thinking?

Is it just me or are we not allowed to combine quotes anymore? I can't find the combine quotes button anywhere!
I see it on this page on the far right, fourth link from the top, under "add a quote". Do you not have that anymore?

I do see it...I guess the combine quote link only shows on the author's quotes page...My mistake for only looking at the search results
Thanks for clearing that up for me!

Now, I'm not just saying this because I love Twilight, but I personally think it's unfair. People are allowed to express there opinion (or atleast, where I live, in the US), and it's just something they should be allowed to do. Now, I know there are much more better quotes that could be used instead of things like "How strongly opposed are you to grand theft auto?", and other seeming hilarius quotes that could be used. But people love these quotes, and should be allowed to show it.

I'd love to rid of the quotes. I mean, if you were a fan, wouldn't you own the book already?
Yet again with Kiwiria -- starting censorship on GoodReads would be shameful to start.
I wish there was some way to hide those Twitlight-and-the-rest quotes from public eye. Or - even better - make a distinction between truly great thoughts and aphorisms from parts of her books. Just look at those quotes:
"If I could dream at all it would be about you. And I'm not ashamed of it."
"'Do I dazzle you?'
'Frequently.'"
"Fall down again, Bella?'
'No, Emmett, I punched a werewolf in the face.'"
"I promise to love you forever--every single day of forever."
"I'm here . . . which roughly translated means I would rather die than stay away from you. I'm an idiot."
"So what you're saying is, I'm your brand of heroin?"
"You're exactly my brand of heroin."

I can't help thinking that positioning those lines with the likes of Twain, Einstein, Wild is a total disgrace to them.
