Do You Reread?

With so many books to choose from and so many new coming out that I want to explore, I sometimes feel torn when I want to reread a favorite. What are some of the books you have gone back to again and again? Here's a short list of mine:

I reread series a lot like Harry Potter and Hush Hush. I reread every single book I have on my book shelf. :) I can't list them all because it's too long of a list. LOVE REREADING!!!

Absolutely! I, like Bre, have read Harry Potter again... at least 5 times. The whole series. I also like to go back to my favorite classics like 1984 and Starship Troopers every so often.

Only if the book is really amazing..
and after a period of time when i seem to have forgotten certain parts..or when i want to read my favorite part in the book..and get so engrossed in it..i end up rereading the entire book

Not really, but i do dip into an old fav when i cant find anything appealing to read. But i do find it difficult to reread

I re-read books I like. I also highlight and make notes. My paperbacks look like hell. I go kind of OCD when it comes to reading a book. I don't want to miss anything.

Yes, I reread all the time. I happen to be impatient, which makes me read books really fast (even when I try not to). I'm also kinda senile -which is nice, sometimes, because I learn something new every day (even though I knew it like, last week).

I end up remembering maybe 20% of what happens in the book, so if I like a book I'll usually reread it to actually know what it's about.

Does this happen to anyone else? No one...?

I've read The Great and Secret Show by Clive Barker 3 times I think. Mostly when I was younger. I've thought about digging it out and re-reading it again but I haven't ... Yet. But as a general rule I don't re-read.

I reread the books I really like...I think I have read the Twilight series like 6 times. I am about to do a second read through of the Tiger's Curse Saga as well.

I also reread when there is a second or third book and don't remember what happened in the previous
one(s). I hate reading and then all the sudden I'm like WTF are they talking about...lol

I reread all the time. I do it mainly because every time I re-read a book I find something new about it. For example I've read every harry potter book (except the 7th one, i've re-read it like 2-3 times) at least 5 times but every time i read it again i find something i haven't noticed the last time. It makes the reading experience a lot better for me. I re-read all kinds of books, as long as they're amongst my favorites.

Oh yeah, that is one I have reread as well. Also, rereading the Dark Tower series now. I think it's my third time through.

I often reread. My boyfriend never understood why until I convinced him to reread the Harry Potter series (he originally thought they were okay but not amazing) and he LOVED them second time around. He's now gone back to all his favourites.

I usually forget bits so I get something different out of a book every time.

I recently reread The Host because I read it a few years ago and adored it then I watched the film and thought "huh??". So I read it again. I was not disappointed, it was still as good as I remembered!

I have retread She's Come Undone by Wally Lamb about eight times. It's one of those books I wish would just go on forever!

I sometimes am in the room to read a certain book over again but I usually just read certain parts of the book and not the whole book. But I reread The Sight by David Clement-Davies over and over again. Its my favorite book!

Sometimes I have a craving for a specific book and then I reread it haha! I probably won't have read a book if I didn't think it was worth rereading, so I don't usually have to worry about how special a book is. I also like coming back to a story months or years after finishing it and rereading it, so I can get a new perspective on it and maybe understand something I didn't or missed before.

To me, I guess, books are meant to be read and reread.

When I was growing up, there wasn't the option of going online and requesting a book from any library in the county like I have now. I didn't have as much money to buy books, so I reread constantly. Now that I have access to a library five minutes from my house (and online I can request any book within the county system) and just about any book I want in e-book form, I rarely reread because there are just too many new books for me to read.

That said, I do reread Pet Sematary frequently, since it's my favorite book of all time.

The only book I reread was and it was in different languages, oh I also reread The hunger games, but only some parts so it doesn't count

I've reread some books before. Mostly when I was younger and didn't have that many books to choose from. I've read the Percy Jackson series 3 times and The Hunger Games series twice or three times.

It mostly depends on the book. Also if I felt I didn't get a good understanding of the book, I will usually reread it.

I've reread most of the books on my shelves, mainly just because sometimes I can't get to a library and I just want to read.

I very seldom reread a book. When I have, its because it wasnt good enough to remember so I'll think I havent read it. About halfway through I'll start remembering it and usually it still isnt worth remembering.

I re read a book as I may not remember part of story and my best novels give me something that I may have missed on my first read.

I reread the Harry Potter series, Inheritance series, Fallen series, Vampire Chronicles, CHicken soup books, Black Dagger Brotherhood, Chronicles of nick, Dark Hunters, Percy Jackson and Kane series, and probably all these dystopia novels I have read.

I have probably read Where the Red Fern Grows at least 50 times. I adore that book. I will also reread earlier books in a series if it's been a while since I've read them. I forget what's going on. I did that with the Wheel of Time series. At least I only had to reread the first 6 books. LOL

I only re-read books if i really like them.sometimes I skip through boring /unimportant parts of a read book & re-read some passages or chapters of the book that I like.

I'm re-reading Collide right now because I only have it on m Kindle. And for some reason all of my highlights and notes were missing so I can't write a review.

If I would have had the paperback I would have highlighted with purple and written in the margins. If it's a particularly good story I would start marking pages by folding over the corners and stapling post-it notes to the pages.

I do the same thing, some of my fav parts in Harry Potter were the predictions of Treleway. I read those passages like 20 times. I also do it for research. I like to go through novels and do a little prediction on what will happen.

I used to when I was younger but now I think - so many books, so little time! I like to read 'A Christmas Carol' Christmas every year 'Dracula' at Halloween, I read Harry Potter several times and Jayne Eyre and all the classics but I think the two books I've read over and over are 'Savages' by Shirley Conran and 'Riders' by Jilly Cooper, they are not classics or even good literature but like a romcom and a fluffy blanket they are comforting. Definitely rereading at least the last book in A Game of Thrones series before the next one comes out.

I've always re-read, and I think you gain something with each re-reading. The first read seems to slip past in a rush to find the outcome. Subsequent reading allow time to think about and admire other things such as the author's style and choice of words. Often, I notice little things that I'd missed previously.

Sometimes I reread before I see the movie, like Hunger Games, but I don't usually reread. Too many books on my to-read list

I rarely re-read because there are so many other books that I want to experience I don't have the time to re-read all my favourites!

However, I have read The Odyssey quite a lot (although a lot of the time that was because I was studying it). I've re-read The Chronicles of Narnia a few times and there are some philosophy texts I go back to occasionally.

I reread all of my books at some point. I reread The Hunger Games no more than 10 minutes after I finished it the first time and finished it in a few hours.
