Yes, that really is the book I'm reading right now. I'm doing research for a Regency romance that I'm working on. I've been reading Regencies since I was a teenager and now I'm finally trying my hand at writing one, so hopefully it won't turn out too badly. :) I'm setting it in Bath since that was one of my favorite parts of my trip to England last year, and I might also set part of it at a country manor house since I visited several of them on my trip.

Anyway, the reading is a bit boring for me since I'm not a huge fan of nonfiction, but I like reading about Regency stuff. :)

What are you reading?

Ausjenny | 225 comments Im reading a book but I forget the title! its one of the quilts of time books A Healing Heart by Angela Breidenbach Found it! been on it almost 2 weeks gone from 3 a week to 2 a month this is not normal but have to say as much as I still love books I have found I have needed the break. I should get some read on my trip.

Camy (camytang) | 1315 comments Mod
I can understand, I get that way, too!

message 4: by Ausjenny (new)

Ausjenny | 225 comments I think its partly all I have been through the last year and even the wrist. I am still not sleeping as good as I want and am just to tired at night. (I also found exercise! I love walking in the morning and if I can in the afternoon.)
But I love reading too.

Walking is great! I've loved walking and listening to audiobooks on my iPod. I've read a whole bunch of books through audiobooks.

Rose (harnessrose) I just finished Girls in Pants: The Third Summer of the Sisterhood by Ann Brashares. So far I think it's my favorite in the series. I'm currently reading Cinder by Marissa Meyer. It's a very different spin on the Cinderella story, but I like it.

Camy (camytang) | 1315 comments Mod
Cinder is on my TBR pile!

message 8: by Rose (new)

Rose (harnessrose) I'm reading it with my Perks of Being a Book Addict group. It's one of the April book picks. Cinder is a spunky girl, not the way I normally imagine Cinderella.

Ausjenny | 225 comments I need to look into audio books are they easy to get?

message 12: by Camy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Camy (camytang) | 1315 comments Mod
I get mine through Audible.com. I have a subscription. Depending on your subscription, audiobooks are anywhere from $15 to $9.50 each. I really like audiobooks. It takes me longer to listen to a book than read it, so I feel like I'm getting more hours of enjoyment out of the book. :)

message 13: by Camy (new) - rated it 5 stars

Camy (camytang) | 1315 comments Mod
Oh, you can also buy audiobooks without a subscription, they're just a little more expensive.

Maria Michaels (mebuscher) | 1 comments Camy, I look forward to reading your regency novel. Right now I'm reading Jar of Dreams by Liz Flaherty and The Millionaire Tasted Temptation by Shirley Jump (a novella).

Thanks, M.E.! Oooh, I love Shirley Jump. I'll have to look into that novella!

Ausjenny | 225 comments Im still on the same book as last week and the week before haven't read a word in 8 days now. but hopefully will on the bus on Thursday. (If I could sleep would help).

message 17: by Rose (new)

Rose (harnessrose) I finished Cinder. I'm currently reading The Cruelest Month by Louise Penny. It is the third Chief Inspector Gamache novel. Her books are mysteries. So far they all have been set in the secret village Three Pines with the same characters and a few new faces with each story.

Camy, I'm so sure you'll fall in love with her books. I have never seen any other author present the Amish in such interesting light. There's so much life and drama they could pass for a soap opera. :)

Judy | 181 comments I've been trying to read a few of the free reads I been getting from Amazon. I have about 1300 books on my Kindle PC. Last night I read a short one by Deena Remiel as she is an author who lives across the valley from me and I have her on Facebook, so I figured I should read something of hers.

I love her books too. This new series is so good! I hate for them to end when reading one. Great characters and such intense drama.

Holly (hollymag321) | 22 comments I'm reading Pam Hillman's Claiming Mariah. It's one of the ACFW book club books for May and I was fortunate enough to win a copy of it!
I'm also getting started on Wishing on Willows by Katie Ganshert.
Actually, I'm reading a 3rd book, Joyce Meyer's Look Great, Feel Great. I'm about 2/3rds done with it. Lot of good practical stuff to that one.

Loved Wishing on Willows you may want to read book 1, Wildflowers in Winter if you haven't yet. They are stand alone but you learn about the characters in Wishing from the first book.

I was fortunate enough to read Wildflowers in Winter. I really enjoyed it. I really like reading books in order when they're a series, even when they don't build off of each other. (My OCD tendencies!)

I cried so hard on the first book. I thought she did an excellent job of showing the emotions the character went through with her grief.

message 41: by Beth (new)

Beth (canadianbeth) I had nothing from the library to read so decided to get started on some of the LIS books on my e-reader. I read the first three Guardians, Inc books by Margaret Daley and am about to start the fourth.

I now have two books to pick up from the library and have two more requested; they are the Seaport series by Kathy Herman, so I will start on them once I have finished the last Guardians e-book.

That would take me awhile :-) At least out of the 1300 some are read. Some are recipe books, too. So maybe I only have like 1200 to read

If you haven't read them, you may enjoy The Cape Refuge series by Terri Blackstock.
