An anthology of mystery stories set during Halloween, aka Samhain. Paranormal elements are acceptable as long as they are in keeping with the Halloween theme and the central story is a mystery. We're seeking stories that are 4000 - 8000 words in length (firm). Query about reprints. We will accept multiple submissions, but not simultaneous submissions.

Open submission period: April 20 - July 15th, 2013.

Payment: A print copy of the finished product and an advance royalty of $5.00 USD. Please see our Guidelines and Payment page for further information:

Publisher's note: Mystery and Horror is a market that welcomes LBGTQ, multiethnic, multinational, nontraditional, and unusual fiction. We are concerned
with well-written stories involving well-developed characters.

Many thanks,

Sarah E. Glenn

Kaine Andrews (kaineandrews) | 48 comments Commenting here primarily so I can find it later when I have time to dig into it... but this sounds like a very interesting idea, and I will more than likely find something to drop in the hat for it. XD Good luck on obtaining submissions!

Lisa Williamson (suteko) | 140 comments This looks really interesting. So we are looking for a mystery/horror combination set around All Hallows Eve? I have been printed in two different Halloween anthologies and I would love to work in another one.

Sarah Glenn | 9 comments More like a mystery/Halloween combination, but horror elements are fine as long as a mystery is involved. I'd love to see your stuff.
