I'd heard about Zombieland and just based on it having the same characters with different actors killed it for me. Saw too much of that crap in the 80s. But I hadn't heard about Dark Minions. Interesting that Amazon is trying to follow the trail that Netflix is leading.
Zombieland was okay. Definitely not the same caliber acting. My kids and I liekd the new Wichita and Columbus better. The humor was a bit raunchy though. May not let the kids watch future episodes.
I saw the Onion News Network pilot. Could have potential, I think.
I agree with everyone about the actors. It's not that they were particularly bad (I think the new Krista in particular was solid), but having to compare them to the film actors was just patently unfair to the TV cast.If the movie had never happened and this was the start of the series, I probably would have been quite a bit more enthused.

Similar to, had I not read World War Z, I probably would want to see the movie. But I did read it, and liked it, so I'm not so excited about the movie.
No worries, the movie is markedly different from the book. If you liked 28 weeks later, you should like WWZ. It's like the early days of Will Smith's I am Legend, but without terrible cgi.
I hope to see WWZ as Some Zombie Movie, removing all expectations that the film will resemble the book.
I waded back into the latest crop of Ammy pilots. Watched The After. Had high hopes considering Chris Carter was behind it.O.o
It was boring. Too much time following people I didn't care about. Then finally a few seconds of creepy.
LOL, is this a movie? I thought it had to do with the Amazon store!

I just watched my first Amazon Pilot last night (I don't watch a lot of TV) Bosch, based on the Harry Bosch character by Michael Connelly. It. Was. Awesome!!!!! I wasn't sure I was going to like Titus Welliver in the staring role (have you noticed how you grow a picture of a character in your mind, and when it hits TV the actor sometimes doesn't match what you have in your head? Or like, when they got mini-man Tom Cruise to play Jack Reacher? Puuullleeeeze. Anyway, off the rant soapbox.) But once I watched it, he does such an amazing job that I now see his face in the role instead of the one I originally had in my head. Welliver, NOT Cruise btw!
I tried to watch "The After" (ugh. Like J.B. said, throw em all under the bus!!) and another one (the dog is asleep on the Roku clicker right now, wouldn't want to wake him . . .) but neither really grabbed me. (Oh, yea, it was called "The Fades" and was set in London. It felt like it was trying too hard....)
I started Helix too - but I couldn't stay with it. For me, it was a lot more "formulaic" than I care for. I did, however, love X-Files until it started getting tired towards the end.... but Lost? As you said - it fell into rack and ruin, didn't it?
I have World War Z on my "wanna watch" list, but am too busy to watch much right now. Anyone seen the movie?

I still love the book World War Z so much that I can't watch the movie. Even though I know they just bought the title, I can't bring myself to do it yet.
I've heard that it's a decent zombie flick.

The After was not very good. It never even explains why the disparate cast of characters are hanging out with each other. I mean, they were stuck together when they were locked in the garage, but once they got out, I would be like, "Later guys!" Doesn't anyone else have a home to go to?Bosch was good. Never read the books but I think I'll wait to see more of the show.
The Mozart show was decent too. Nothing very ground-breaking but the edgy classical music scene stuff feels different and interesting.
I hope they go with Bosch - it is just edgy enough, has a strong storyline, the characters are great . . . if you get a chance, Domino, the books are really good.
I'm not sure I can bring myself to watch the World War Z film. I loved the book and can't see how the film could do it justice. I usually prefer my zombies to be of the old-school George Romero shuffling variety rather than these new-fangled modern fast ones, anyway.
I might check out the Bosch books, So. I did like the Lincoln Lawyer movie (my next book will have similar homages to L.A.). I agree with you about the show.
So, somehow, The After was picked up for a full season. Don't worry, Bosch was too!It looks like maybe all of the adult shows were picked up except one of the comedies.

While a few you could see coming what was going to happen at first they all seemed to have a very different twist by the end of the weekly show. I actually looked forward to watching it every week. I would have never of guessed some of the things that happened!
Another one that moved a bit slow at first but ended with a bang, was the series Bitten on Space Channel and based on the Otherworld series by Kelly Armstrong. The lady playing Elena is exactly what I expected and very different from her character she played on V. And there are alot of complaints about the casting of Clay and Jeremy but I was OK with them even from the beginning... just keep wondering where the rest of the pack was as there was always more than 6!
And if you didn't catch Defiance last season catch up now as the new season starts in June... been a long wait! I'll have to re-watch some of it to jog my memory on somethings that happened but the last episode of the season is burned into my brain for sure!
Anyway, if you haven't seen either there are several sites you can watch the shows from for free, like www.projectfreetv.com and many others, so check them out.

I haven't seen the "Bitten" series, but I know the books. I will have to see if it is on Netflix?
I did watch Defiance and am waiting anxiously for the next season. Finally, some actual SyFy on the SyFy Channel!
Zombieland - just very disappointing. I don't think they should have used the same characters with diff actors. Did not work.
Dark Minions - a proposed stop-motion animated series about a couple pf employees working for the galactic overlords. Had its moments. Still on the fence.
