I am about to start reading a book which might interest Christine...
It is called Echoes of Pemberley :)
Hi Soph, yes that book does sound good. Hope you get in lots of great reading during your holiday.
I just finished Blackmoore:A Proper Romance by Julianne Donaldson. Hated it!It was a shocking disappointment compared to Edenbrooke- the first book by this author. The first book was a total joy to read,light-hearted,sweet and fun.Blackmoore is the total opposite, depressing, total ANGST from the first page to about the last 25 pages.Absolutely no romance or physical attraction until those last few pages, which I despise in a so-called ROMANCE!Except for the two leads and the younger Mr. Brandon, the characters are hateful/detestable people.
I could kick myself for wasting the time to finish it,because it most certainly is not worth finishing!
Avoid this one and read something else!
I'm thinking Seems Like Old Times by Joanne Pence next.

Glad that you are enjoying it.I really don't enjoy stories that are full of ANGST,misery and/or unlikeable people, and it seems sooooo many have those kind of stories anymore. I kind of expect it in nonfiction, but I don't want it in my fiction.I read fiction for escapism from the trials of life,so I don't want to read tales of woe, lol!
Seems almost impossible these days to find a delightful, lighthearted tale like Edenbrooke was,so I have to keep looking, since 'Seems Like Old Times' was just another failure! :(

Just finished Waterfall: A Novel (River of Time Series) by Lisa T. Bergren ,which is a time-travel YA romance, that was great. Can't wait to read Book #2 Cascade:A Novel.
Hi everyone,I apologize for not being active here lately, but I just got burned out on reading only romance and have been reading more in other genres.I should have made this group 'clean non religious reading',instead of just romance, because I do enjoy most genres, including nonfiction.
If I find a way to change the name of my group, don't be surprised if that happens, lol!
There are very few books that anyone else has added to the bookshelves, and I hope more members will add books.
Happy Reading !
