Dawnie and Delaney #2
Addia frowned. "Nothing, until we have food and herbs."
"Do I look different?" Ecka asked her sister, pointing to the huge scar that covered a whole side of her face.
Jonas and Willie walked in silence for a while, before Jonas found the old druid garden. The druids weren't around to take care of it anymore, but he and his sister will. He uprooted some mushrooms, wild berries, carrots and some herbs he thought might help. "I think this should be good. Willie, how did she get whipped? And shackled?"

Cymbril nodded to Addia. "No," She smiled weakly at Ecka. "Not at all."
"You?" Jonas almost laughed, but recoiled backwards. "But...and you have the guts to stand here and watch as my sister evaluates her wounds?" He sighed.
Ecka frowned, because she knew it was a lie. She could feel the normal pattern of skin on her face torn away, one silver blue eye just a slit now.

Cymbril's lime-green eyes stared at her sadly. "Ecka... It will be okay." She said sadly.
"No, not if you say that." Jonas punched Willie's shoulder affectionately. "You were just doing what you had to, right?" Right? He thought. Or I'm going to beat your brains in.
"I know." Ecka said quickly. Because she needed to believe it. "I know it will be okay."

Ecka hugged her back and stared out past the cave.
"I believe you, man." Jonas assured Willie.
"I believe you, man." Jonas assured Willie.
Jonas smiled. "Lets get back to the cave." He said with a smile.
Ecka pulled back and stared out the cave as Jonas returned, dropping the berries and such and herbs.

Addia shifted through the different herbs and finally found a berry she liked. "It's easy on the stomach," She told Ecka, handing it to her.
Ecka popped the berry into her mouth sucking on it until it burst into juice in flavor in her mouth. "Thanks." She expressed her gratitude quietly.
"Can I work on your ankles while you eat?" She pushed the pile of berries forward, and Ecka began eating them as quick as she could. She nodded absently and Addia bit her lip, kneeling and lifting her left pantleg. Her inner joint was popped out of place, a ring of dried blood circling her foot. She looked up at Ecka, but didn't meet her gaze, as Ecka was slowly eating the food that Jonas and Willie had gathered. "Cymbril?" She whispered. "Could you hold her shin in place? I have to readjust her foot."

"Thanks." She whispered. Ecka looked down, eyes wide. Addia pushed her thumb roughly into her joint socket, her other hand jerking Ecka's ankle back into place.
Ecka yelped, but it quickly faded to a whimper and then to silence, so she was just holding her arms and rocking back and forth. Addia looked up at her to see if she was okay and Ecka offered a smile.
"Next ankle?" Ecka whispered.

"Next ankle?" Ecka whispered.
Addia followed, doing the same for this ankle. This time, Ecka stayed silent.
Ecka sighed. "I never said it would be." She said, even though it was. She looked down, Addia was applying a thin poultice to the thin yet deep cuts, wrapping them in some kind of gauze.
"They're not that bad." Addia explained. "I just don't want them to get infected."
Ecka nodded.
Jonas stared around the cave awkwardly.

Willie smiled at Ecka and came closer. "Are you- are you feeling better?" He asked hesitantly.
Jonas followed her and leaned up against the mouth of the cave. "Hey." He smiled, arms crossed across his chest, his nose ring glinting in the fading sun.
Addia crossed around to Ecka's back and whispered in her ear, "This will probably hurt." She lifted the back of her shirt and began applying a poultice of several different herbs to the torn flesh, tracing the deep gashes as softly as she could with one finger.
On instinct to pull away, Ecka arched her back but did nothing else. She crooked her head over her shoulder to look at Addia and smiled assuredly.
She shook her head at Willie. "No. I'm not." She responded.

"Hello." Cymbil said smiling at him. Her lime-green eyes shined brightly.
Ecka bit her lip and stared at Willie. "Sit by me?" She asked quietly.
Jonas smirked. "You're an airbender, right?" He asked her curiously.
Jonas smirked. "You're an airbender, right?" He asked her curiously.

"Yeah." She twirled a mini tornado on her finger. "And you're a..."
Ecka rested the good side of her face on his shoulder and sighed as Addia put her shirt back down and came around. "Can I...Your face?" She asked, warily.
Ecka didn't say anything. She buried her face in Willie's shoulder.
Ecka didn't say anything. She buried her face in Willie's shoulder.

Willie patted her back. "It will be fine." He said. "It gets worse before it get better." Willie says reassuringly. But he didn't think he helped much.
Jonas smiled. "Earthbender." He replied.
Addia looked at her. She handed Willie the poultice that she had made. "I think she'd like it better if you did it." She handed him gauze and a pad for her eye as well. "And then wrap it."
Ecka smiled slightly.

Ecka smiled slightly.

Cymbril smiled. "Cool. I've only ever really met water benders. Oh, well I guess there's Willie..." She kept a strait face. "There were only two other air benders in our clan. One of the elders, and a little boy."
Ecka smiled. He was so gentle. "Thanks." He wrapped but her eye and the scarred flesh so that she could see out of her good eye.
Jonas nodded. "You would like Addia." She was sitting in the corner of the cave, staring ahead blankly like she was deep in thought. "She's an airbender."

"Yes." Jonas nodded, turning back to Cymbril.
Ecka felt the good side of her face, the soft skin.

Willie smiled. He stood up and ran his hands through his hair. "Where are we?" He asked looking towards Addia.
Jonas looked over at her and wrapped a hand around her shoulder. "Are you okay?" He asked with a furrowed brow.
Ecka sighed.
"Twenty miles from any nearest camp." Addia answered, walking towards them.
Ecka sighed.
"Twenty miles from any nearest camp." Addia answered, walking towards them.

"Yeah, I'm just worried about what we'll do next." Cymbril said sighing. "I mean, I hadn't planned to run before this morning. I just wanted to save Ecka."
Addia nodded, looking at Ecka who was sitting on her rock in slence.
Jonas looked at her. "I've never lived in a clan." He pointed out.
Jonas looked at her. "I've never lived in a clan." He pointed out.
"Just around here. With the druids."

Willie nodded slowly. "You guys don't mind if we stay here the night do you?" He asked Addia.
"There were firebenders." He shrugged. "It wasn't too bad."
Addia shook her head. "Not at all."
Addia shook her head. "Not at all."

"Thanks." Willie said and smiled.
He smiled. "Sure." He pulled her back a little and earthbended the entrance so that it was completely dark. "So no one can capture us. Or hurt us." He whispered. He looked at Willie for light.
She smiled.
She smiled.

Ecka smiled across the room. They all did, and everyone gathered around the fire, except Ecka, who stayed a healthy distance away out of fear.

Cymbril glanced at them. She yawned. "I might go to bed soon." She said.
Ecka smiled and nodded. "Thanks." She whispered.
Jonas frowned. "Hey, stay."
Jonas frowned. "Hey, stay."
Jonas grinned at her. "You look really pretty." He whispered.
"No, I'm fine."
"No, I'm fine."

"Good." Willie said and grabbed her hand. "I'm really glad I came with you guys."
Jonas smiled, and blushed as well. He kissed her cheek softly and shuffled away.
Ecka smiled. "Good." She answered quietly, staring at the fire.
Ecka smiled. "Good." She answered quietly, staring at the fire.
Ecka turned back around put on her shirt once more, completely silent. She stared at her sister.
Jonas nodded. "Okay, do as milady says." He winked, leading Willie outside.
