Jo Bissell (jobissell) | 14 comments Hello Readers - as a new author planning to self publish my first novel this summer, I am desperately seeking feedback of all sorts from those of you with love of this genre. My novel is a paranormal romance targeted towards mature teens and adults. I will take feedback on my website, my covers, my blurb, my writing... anything. I just need some guidance and it seems like this might be the place to get it. Thanks in advance!

Julien Rene Durant was once a good man. Born in France, he took the oath as a Jesuit Priest in the 1600s. He dedicated his life to spreading the Gospel. Now, he was a monster surviving off the blood of others; killing for survival even as he wished for nothing other than for his own extinction. After almost four centuries of guilt and hopelessness, he encounters someone who might just be able to rescue the good man trapped within the monster, but will his judgements deny him a second chance?

Mary Ruth Jacobson-Ryan is nothing special; a small town girl stuck in a rut. Married to the local Iraqi War Hero who turned out not to be the perfect guy she fell in love with before the war, she is desperate for a way out. When things turn from bad to worse, she runs with plans to never look back. She quickly finds, however, that her search for a better future may lead her down a path with no future at all.

Karma♥Bites ^.~ (karma_bites) | 62 comments Jo, some clarification, please?

Given that you use the term "feedback" and this is still WIP, would it be correct that you're seeking beta readers more than reviewers? Also, are members supposed to post their feedback by posting here?

Thanks.

Jo Bissell (jobissell) | 14 comments Hello - Thank you for the response. I suppose beta-reader is an appropriate term, however, this novel is fairly far in its progress and has been beta-read several times already at this point. I am hoping to get some final thoughts before I decide when/where/how to publish it.

As far as where and how to leave feedback, here is fine. Otherwise there is a comment section on the Leanpub page (link above) as well or just send a Goodreads message. I am also on Twitter and Facebook. Whatever is most convenient.

Thanks again!

Karma♥Bites ^.~ (karma_bites) | 62 comments Oh, I didn't realise. I guess the info on leanpub.com is outdated then? Because it still has the following:

This book is currently 82 pages (23,703 words) long.
This book was last updated on 2013-04-13.
The author considers this book to be about 25% complete!

Sorry and nevermind. :)

Jo Bissell (jobissell) | 14 comments No. That is true as far as what is available to download. But I have the novel is nearly complete other than some final edits. It is 13 chapters and almost 60000 words in it's current form. Still needs a professional edit though.

Jemeka Edwards (mekaga85) | 2 comments Hi! I have read the synopsis of the story from your website. I download and read it but so far it sounds like a good story.

Actually Jeanae, I would be extremely interested in your thoughts. It's been a few years (about 15 of them) since I was 16, and although I feel like this is something I might have enjoyed, it's hard to know. I will give you a heads up on some profanity and "adult themes," but I don't feel like it is anything inappropriate for me to be suggesting to you to read. Please let me know if you agree. The free code is "JBFree" and you can get it in any digital format.

Jemeka - Thank you for taking the time to do this. I will appreciate any and all thoughts you might have, good and bad, as well as suggestions for improvements.
