When was the last time you visited a park? what did you do while there?

Can you change a tire?

Have you ever sung in the shower?

Breakfast or not?

Janelle (janelle5) | 756 comments Pets - I have two cats and as of this morning 9 guinea pigs (three were born today).
Parks - I went to the park at the bottom of our street last week with my husband and we hit a tennis ball around.
Change a tyre - never. That's what road service and husbands are for.
Singing in the shower - on the odd occasion, but not recently.
Breakfast - always. Can't function without it.

How about you Reggia?

message 3: by Margaret (new)

Margaret Metz Pets - yes! I have two cats and a dog. We had another cat but she was old (over 19) and she died recently. :o( It was so hard.

I last visited a park . . . it was about a year ago. It was near a field where my son was doing some sports. I used to go to them all the time when my sons were little. Now my yard is my park.

Tires - I want to say I can -- I have in the past, but it was a long time ago. When I was in the Army we had to PMCS (Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services) our vehicles every time we took them out - and monthly for the ones not being used. We did everything from clean to fix wiper blades, tires, oil . . .

I sing in the shower all the time. It helps me wake up and get in the "right" attitude for the day. I usually sing praise songs.

I do eat breakfast normally. It helps me not get sick so easily. If I skip a meal it's usually lunch and/or supper. I'm terrible about that.

Werner | 2707 comments We currently have a dog, Princess, who's about ten years old. Her mother, a purebred beagle, belonged to our dentist, who bred puppies for sale; but on the occasion that produced Princess and her litter mates, the mother dog had gotten outdoors and mated with one of the neighborhood mutts. So Princess and her siblings couldn't be sold for big bucks, and her owners were looking for homes for them.

Rebekah, Tony and I went for a long walk on the nature trails in our local city park just a few days ago.

I've never changed a tire in my life (never had a need to, luckily!), and wouldn't really know how to.

No, I can't carry a tune in a bucket (in or out of the shower), being almost wholly tone deaf; and I greatly prefer sit-down baths over showers, anyway.

Barring any unusual circumstances, I always eat a light breakfast (rarely a heavy one, unless we're going out to a place like Ryan's, etc.) When I'm at home and eating alone (which I usually do), I eat my breakfast and other meals here in front of the computer, multitasking. That's usually my allotted time for getting on Goodreads; so being a Goodreads addict (as well as liking to eat) I'm unlikely to skip a meal. :-)

Nicole | 1752 comments Unfortunately, I don't have a pet right now. But I'd like to get a(nother) dog one of these days.

I haven't been to a city park in a long time.

Last time I tried, I wasn't able to change a tire. Hooray for Dad, Sears and/or Triple-A.

I don't think I've ever sung in the shower, but I tend to have a song going through my head a lot of the time.

I always eat breakfast. Always. I really do believe it's the most important meal of the day, although it doesn't have to be anything major--cereal, yogurt, or peanut butter toast. Just something to get me going. I don't drink coffee, though.

MichelleCH (lalatina) | 165 comments Pets: yes, Jimmie the cat (after Newport Creamery Aweful Awefuls), he's only one and a bit of a handful
Park: for Earth Day, busy cleaning. Satisfying and actually fun too.
Tire: wouldn't know where to begin
Singing in the Shower: can't sing at all; I wish I could
Breakfast: definitely , I wake up so hungry. Usually half a bagel with cream cheese and of course, coffee!

Reggia | 2537 comments PETS? No, but. LOL, but I happen to be watching two cats for 3 months, and I'm also dog-sitting for two dogs for 3 days. Yes, it's a zoo and almost over!!

PARK? I think it was late spring to meet up for a book discussion.

TIRE? Once upon a time I could but this week when I had a flat I didn't feel qualified. I called AAA and registered from the side of the road; unfortunately, my phone died and a neighborhood security guard insisted on changing it for me. :-D

SHOWER SINGING? I used to...

BREAKFAST? By all means, yes! :-)

message 9: by Margaret (new)

Margaret Metz It has been a while. I would have a serious update for the pets section. We lost our dog - he was pretty old (a rescue so we only had a guess at his age). He was losing his eyesight and had some hip pain, but he died from complications of a stroke. It was sad, but I was relieved he didn't suffer and I knew his time was coming.

We ended up rescuing more cats though. We are up to 9 and have two more coming in a week. Our kids are grown and gone so we have filled up the space and time with kitties. Don't worry though, my vet assures me that hoarders don't take their cats in for treatment, shots, teeth cleanings, etc. They are spoiled rotten.

message 10: by Werner (new)

Werner | 2707 comments Margaret, so sorry about your dog; but glad that he had a long, happy life with people who loved him, and that he passed away without protracted suffering!

message 11: by Reggia (new)

Reggia | 2537 comments Sorry to hear that, Margaret, I'm glad he had a safe place in your home and heart... I would love to see a pic of all those kitties!

Maggie the Muskoka Library Mouse (mcurry1990) Do you have pets? Yes. Two dogs.

When was the last time you visited a park? what did you do while there? Monday. I walked my dog there.

Can you change a tire? No.

Have you ever sung in the shower? Yes.

Breakfast or not? Generally I try to have breakfast, but sometimes it's just coffee or tea.

message 13: by Margaret (new)

Margaret Metz Reggia, I don't have a picture of all of them at once... Once the babies get a little older I'll have to set up all the food bowls and get them in one picture.

I have a lot of pics though. I don't know how to upload them on here though. Maybe I'll have to add a post to my blog and then give you all the link.

message 14: by Werner (new)

Werner | 2707 comments Margaret, to upload pictures to Goodreads, first save them electronically on your computer; then go to your profile page. Right under your profile picture, there should be a link that says something like "photos" or "more photos." When you click that, it will take you to the page where your photos would be displayed. At the top, it'll have a link, "add photos." Clicking that takes you a function that allows you to browse your computer and upload the one(s) you want. Then you can share the link to your photos page on this thread (or on any thread where you want to).

message 15: by Margaret (new)

Margaret Metz Thank you, Werner. I don't know how I missed that. Here is the link:

message 16: by Reggia (new)

Reggia | 2537 comments They're all so adorable, I couldn't decide who was my favorite! Enjoyed the little quips about each of them, too! :-)

And to our other Margaret, do you only take one dog to the park at a time? We have several dog parks here. I went with my daughter who has several dogs and it was quite a study in canine personalities (kinda like Margaret's felines). :-p

message 17: by Yvonne (last edited Nov 28, 2016 07:12AM) (new)

Yvonne | 138 comments Do you have pets? I have a cat named Samantha. The rest of the pets, a dog, snake, a few outdoor cats and some fish are family pets.

When was the last time you visited a park? what did you do while there? A few months ago I walked around a park eating an ice cream cone.

Can you change a tire? nope.

Have you ever sung in the shower? All the time.

Breakfast or not? Usually yes, unless I'm being lazy.

message 18: by Cynda (new)

Can you change a tire? Used to know. Don't drive anymore.

Have you ever sung in the shower? Yes yes yes. . . . . Guilty.

Breakfast or not? Usually.

Do you have pets?
Auggie, the schnauzer. Sweet little guy.

When was the last time you visited a park? what did you do while there?
One of my favorite things. About two weeks ago. Walked Auggie, read a little, and enjoyed a non-fat latte.

Can you change a tire?
Of course. I'm a boomer. But I still have apps on my iPhone I can't figure out.

Have you ever sung in the shower?
Every morning

Breakfast or not?
Two boiled eggs and wheat toast (yuck)

Reggia | 2537 comments Welcome, Alan! Nice to have your participation. :-)

Decided to use this time to update my answers:

Do you have pets? No. Sadly a month ago, I had to say goodbye to the most wonderful cat I have ever owned, a beautiful Ragdoll.

When was the last time you visited a park? what did you do while there? It's been a couple weeks. I had a several mile walk through the riparian lakes, and alongside a canal.

Can you change a tire? This answer remains the same. Once upon a time, I did. I'm not sure I could repeat the feat.

Have you ever sung in the shower? Not regularly -- some music would help!

Breakfast or not? Yes, but I eat it pretty late these days. Nevertheless, I still love most breakfast foods.

Great idea - I think I'll do the same.

Do you have pets? Yes. I have 10 cats. I know - crazy. I don't recommend it.

When was the last time you visited a park? what did you do while there? It's been a while. I'm very allergic to grass so I don't seek them out as much. I went to one a couple months ago with my granddaughter. It was perfect weather. The gardens weren't full yet, but we had a great time.

Can you change a tire? I don't know. It's been a really long time. I hope I don't have to find out! Lol

Have you ever sung in the shower? Yes, but not often. I usually listen to audio books while showering.

Breakfast or not? Yes. I used to skip it most of the time but I think I do better when I eat breakfast.

Reggia | 2537 comments A friend has recently shared with me how wonderful it was spending summer days at the Hudson. Glad you experienced that, too! As well as the unconditional love of a Golden Retriever. Back east when we lived off the Chesapeake Bay, we also had a golden named Tessie (officially Lady Tess of the Isle of Kent).

Updating my pet answer... I have a cat again. She was mine for 2.5 years at which time I rehomed her hoping that KIttyboi might recover better without her. When I originally brought her in, it was merely for him to have a companion. He never took to her so when he became severely ill, I rehomed her. He didn't survive, and by chance, another 2 months after that she was given back to me. I've been going through some tough stuff these last couple months, and she has become a good companion (we had to forgive each other first, to be sure, but all is well now).

It's good that you have a companion. I think loneliness doubles our sorrows and muffles our joys.

Reggia | 2537 comments Thank you, Werner!

Peggy, yes... and little did I know how much I would need that companionship when more trials came.
