I grew up in a small town in Southern Missouri where I raised goats and cattle and showed animals at the county fair. My love of animals led me to study animal science and after college, I ran away with the circus. I joined Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey circus as a veterinary technician and spent two years traveling the country and Mexico. I lived in an RV with my dog and took care of elephants, tigers, camels, horses, and more!

I don’t consider myself an author, more of a hobby writer. My first book, Survival Guide for the Working World, was purely an accident. I had finished university and found myself with spare time. I was also in a mood where I was irritated with the behaviours around me. In polite society, we don’t express those kinds of thoughts out loud; that’s for your inside voice. So I started writing, and all sorts of things came out.

I did write articles for Wordsmith Magazine US. I received my diploma through Thomson Education Direct for Catering and Gourmet Cooking April 2002. Now I am a cookbook author who writes cookbooks for kids and adults who have celiac disease to help them have safe desserts.
