Just curious, has anyone read The Sound of Butterflies by NZ author Rachael King? It sounds intriguing and I have been wanting to read it, but I (perhaps foolishly) just read a couple of reviews from people who gave it only one star, and it sounds like something incredibly dark and gruesome happens! I am squeamish and a massive wuss, and don't want to be kept up at night, lol. Does anyone know if it's really that bad? It otherwise sounds like something I'd very much enjoy. Any help would be appreciated! I don't need a spoiler, just maybe an idea of how gruesome from 1-10, ha.
I loved it. I think Rachael King is brilliant. I read it two years ago so I can't remember it very well but I don't think I found it especially dark. That's certainly not my lasting memory of it anyway.

oh that's good to hear, many thanks for that! I have taken the plunge and am starting it today... :-D Allende is on my to-read list, too.
