It's always a personal pleasure for me to hear people bagging on such things as Kim Kardashian, One Direction, 50 Shades, and Justin Bieber. On the subject of Bieber, I would like hear what everyone thinks about his latest controversy - the message he left, and his behavior, in the Secret Annexe guestbook.

Personally I think people are overreacting a little. Justin Bieber is an annoying little prick, in my opinion, but what he wrote was nothing more than the expected arrogance of a selfish pop-star, making himself out to be sensitive and respectful, like that Harry kid crying dramatically into his shirt for the cameras. Nothing too hurtful was said, but then people are complaining that while he never said anying "offensive", his message does indicate that he wasn't taking the experience too seriously. Again, what an asshole, but that's just Justin Bieber.

What do you guys think about it?

Only Bieber would take a serious occasion like that and use it as a reflection of himself. Anne struck me as a really intelligent girl - most of the time I read, I couldn't believe she started writing at 13 since her language is impeccable - and I'm pretty sure she wouldn't waste her time on such an idiot. I think it was good of the representatives to be so nice about his 'busy' work schedule and fitting them in, but all that makes me think is that the Dutch are far, far superior to Beiber. He should be taking notes, not leaving them.

Bieber is a self-obsessed insensitive young man who couldn't even keep a respectful silence at a place where someone lost her life in one of the worst ways and reasons to die, so why discuss a jerk like him and give him even a slice of our attention? He wants to be talked about everywhere in the world, and we're doing just that!

Agreed. Agreed. Agreed. Agreed.

I think he showed a lack of respect for Ann Frank and all she stood for. Many said to me he is just a kid. And a lot of other excuses. No he is 19, famous and thinks he can do no wrong. Like many other celebraties (not only them) who think they are above the average person.

The problem isn't what he said or meant. The REAL problem is that we care so much about it. He's a douche and will disappear when we stop following him around and debating his latest debacles.

this actually digusts me. as a reader of Anne frank's diary and reading all her struggles and then he goes to the Musesm in her honour IS THAT??????? he may have not meant it hurtful though this still fires me up

Anne was a very smart girl. Yes, she was quite boy crazy. But I must say she didn't have a taste for guys who were rude or only cared about themselves. Not that I know Bieber presonally, but you know....

Painters, authors, cooks, composers, and singers are all artists. Some of the best artists have lived lives of suffering. But one thing I've found is that without that suffering, one cannot understand people and speak to them through their work. That is where real art comes from. Perhaps the Biebs has had pain in his life, more than we will know, but his actions show that he has very little respect for people other than himself.

That, my friends, is where true art turns into a nightmare.

Of course he would make it all about himself.

I just love this post. Love.

First off, can I just say that most of the previous comments have spelled Anne's name "Ann", so please, there's an e. Also I think it's not only disrespectful, but selfish, that the only thought in his head after leaving that museum was she would've been a Belieber. This kid needs to take a good hard look at reality and realize the world doesn't revolve around him. And after his career fails in a couple of years he can go back and get an education, so his brain can develop more complex thoughts and take away a lesson from an experience such as that.

I think it was a horrific thing to do. While we are all reflecting and sympathising with a young girl who lost her life in the concentration camps, there Beiber was deflecting all the attention onto himself, and then expecting that it will not be treated badly. He is famous pop star- full of arrogance and confidence. But this kind of "confidence" is just overboard. People have called him "just a kid"- he is nineteen years old for goodness sake. He has to be held accountable for his own actions. But, I feel like this is what he has wanted. People like him will always feel starved for attention and will do anything to gain it, even if it means the negative views of half the world.

Honestly she probably would have been a belieber.

I agree with the article, at least he wasn't partying around the Red Light district. And i didn't think the comment was really that offensive.Although posting a shirtless picture of himself in response was characteristically obnoxious.

I think he is a total muppet, yes. But at the end of the day, a 19 year old American boy with money to spend visits Amsterdam and the WORST thing he does whilst he is there, is the write a slightly self obsessed message in the visitors book of a popular historic sight. He could have done a lot of other things when he was there that would have got him in to a lot more trouble. At least he was taking a interest in Ann and her history, even if the comment was thoughtless.
