Trike | 11222 comments I don't know about you guys, but my to-read pile is a bit... out of control.

If we're going to have a competition, I think I'm a contender for the gold medal. Or straitjacket. (I also have this many books on my iPad and Kindle.)

9 feet 5 inches tall. Only fell twice. I didn't get a paper cut as much as a paper CRUSH. Ow.

Taken just a little while ago.

Trike | 11222 comments Notice about halfway up the paperback pile. Seemed so interesting I actually bought it twice. :p

Dacia (dacia9) | 2 comments It's great that you actually buy the paperbacks rather than doing everything on ereader!

What is the title of that space opera anthology, hardback?

Ric (ricaustria) | 43 comments Some of these books are good, and some are quite hohum, but it's hard to tell from the covers.

It's called The Space Opera Renaissance by David G. Hartwell The Space Opera Renaissance. I just saw it in paperback the other day.

Trike | 11222 comments A friend of mine gave me the Marvel Civil War hardback for my birthday last month and I mentioned my to-read pile was now over 3 feet tall.

But when I thought about it, with books squirreled away here and there, I revised my estimate up to 6 feet. Then Saturday I started collecting them all in one place and thought, "Holy crap, this stack would be 7 feet tall!"

Ah, Saturday. I was so young, so naive.

Once I stacked them up (and they fell twice), I ran out of room. Because of the ceiling.

I don't even know why I keep going to the library.

I did notice that, but thought it might be a sequel with a similar cover or something.

I'm halfway tempted to try this myself just for the fun of it, though I'm proud to say I cleaned my selves out too long ago. I know I have 89 titles on my to-read-physical-books Goodreads shelf, but I wonder how high that would stack. But what to do about ebooks? Don't count I guess.

Is your middle name Sybil?

I took another picture with me standing next to the pile holding my iPad open to the book list, but that's what caused it to fall the second time. Also, I'm not photogenic.

Candice Nunu (nunu_noodles) | 52 comments Photogenic Schmotogenic! All we care for is the books!
You've made me feel a lot better, I actually made it a project of mine to whittle down my hard copy to-read list and I'm down to about 8 books. That of course, doesn't count my good reads to-read list of books I haven't obtained yet =/ Seems like every time I log onto good reads I see a book club member recommending a different book and the list just gets longer and longer..

Ruth (tilltab) Ashworth | 2218 comments I have no idea what my 'to read' pile would look like. For a start, I just count 'to read' loosely as books I plan to get around to reading at some point, whether I own them or not. For another thing, the books I own and have not read are scattered among several bookcases in order with the rest of them. My mental list goes on and on, but I probably wouldn't recall half the books on it, even ones I own, unless a specific book was mentioned.
