Jean (otakumom) Hi Everyone,

I introduced my mother in law to Jayne Ann Krentz with

Smoke in Mirrors
Running Hot
Second Sight
The Third Circle

She loved Smoke in Mirrors and loved that it was clean (no sex).

She liked the Arcane Society books but couldn't deal with the sex in it.

So, I'm on a mission to find the cleaner books to buy for her and was wondering if you guys could recommend anything. Kissing okay but no sex.

Right now, I'm checking her books out of the library again to re-read the novels to figure out if any fit the bill.

Thanks.

Marybelle (mbmcolon) | 45 comments Hi,
I know what you mean about clean books. If you don't mind a little religion popped in, have her try Love Inspired Romances and Love Inspired Suspense books. These are really sweet stories with no sex scenes, but many of them handle real life themes. Unfortunately, JAK doesn't write for this genre :-(

Marti Rosenberg | 17 comments I agree, some of the Harlequin Love Inspired books are wonderful. you might also try Julie Kenner's Aphrodite series or the classic Love and Laughter books.

Jean (otakumom) Thanks for the recommendations. I'm tempted to buy a book and take out the steamy bits for her. She really loves the suspense. She said that Smoke in Mirrors was great and she absolutely loved it. I guess some things are just not meant to be. :(

Be Hi: I just joined this group today because I love Amanda Quick novels.
Noticed this thread and just wanted to add a recommendation that your mother in-law may like - Crocodile on the Sandbank (Amelia Peabody #1) by Elizabeth Peters suspense - humor - some romance -clean.
