Learned contributors, Can anyone help identify these two books from these ( very ) basic clues ?1) Involves a Formula 1 team who are the victims of a plot to use a sniper to burst tyres during a race, may be connected to new material in racing overalls? 2) Involves an amateur Rally Crew who are pushed off into a quarry during an event. What years were these published, or what year(s) did you read them?

Book 2 has now been identified and safely purchased. "Rally to the Death" by Douglas Rutherford published in 1974. The other will have been published at a similar time. I have bought several Douglas Rutherford books all motor sport based but have not as yet found the one described at 1) above.

Rally Fatale seems to be the other name for this book. Rally To The Death is the link to the title that David found.

Do you think that the unknown one might have been by a "major" author from that time period, one of the middle pack or even a lesser known writer?
