Mango season!!! I am jealous. Fresh mango from the tree. Do you pay for mangoes? I know this is weird, but since I have lemon trees in my yard I resent paying for them in the store, but I have to to it anyway.
:-)

For some reasons it can only grow in this one lucky little state in Malaysia and only on April to June, so it is very rare and expensive, but worth it. It is so famous here that every year we had a few cases of harumanis stolen from it farms. But yes I sometimes do buy mangoes. Or sometimes I wait for someone to take it down from it trees or for my neighbours to give some to me. Haha
I like cherries. But we don't have it here. Too bad.

Global warming is certainly going to have an affect on where they grow.

Be good to thy neighbours. Especially on mango season. :-)
It was VERY HOT here in Los Angeles today. We are going to have 100+F temps for the next few days, even the beaches are going to get into the 90s. We also have the Santa Ana winds AKA hot wind, which is always a delight.Hmmmm "Hot wind" sounds like some sort of gastrointestinal disorder. ;-)
Weather has been very nice in Oregon this week. But, this past weekend, we were watching TV and heard a low rumbling sound. We both thought it sounded like thunder off in the distance. A few minutes later it happened again and sounded like it was closer. A third time and it was definitely thunder and unmistakable about it. Soon after, it rained by the buckets full. Which is very unusual for Oregon. While it rains a lot, it seldom pours. This time it did and the din on our porch overhang was loud enough to interrupt our TV watching.Next morning, we found out that lightning had struck a house near a friend of ours in a nearby town and set it afire. He also said that the thunder was close enough to him that it set off his car alarm. That would have to be close thunder to shake his car that hard.

But, here in Oregon, it is unusual. See some "heat lightning" in the summer, sometimes, but, seldom with a rain shower. Of course, that last weekend was a full blow thunder storm!

Born & raised here in LA so we don't get a lot of thunder.
I'm in central Ohio, and I'm half expecting a plague of locusts or something because it's NOT RAINING! The 10 day forecast is even more disturbing - 9 out of 10 days are supposed to be sunny or partly sunny. Why am I freaked out by beautiful weather? Because it ALWAYS rains for most of two weeks around Memorial Day. It's one of those axiomatic things central Ohioans and PGA players, employees, and fans just expect.
We spend a lot of time talking about the weather around here b/c it's so changeable. Mid April we had several highs in the 80's followed by a low of 26 and snow which melted the next day when the temp climbed up to 68. The May-June rains are the only consistent weather events we get.
As for thunderstorms, I love them! I grew up in a tiny rural community in SE Ohio and we got lots of them there along with hail, high winds, and occasional tornadoes. Severe storms in the country are beautiful, frightening, and awe-inspiring. That's one thing I miss because storms just aren't the same in the city.

The Midwest sounds like it has interesting weather.
SoFlo is getting steamy. At 9am it is already 85 degrees and humid. We had thunderstorms most of last week, which I love. I find them awesome. Thankfully we made through the first month of hurricane season. Only four more to go.
Oregon is getting rain. At least where I live in the Willamette Valley. Not raining all day, but, getting some rain almost daily. Typical June weather. Summer doesn't really get here before the 4th of July. Can remember going to a friend's place to watch the fireworks display near where he lived. It was cold enough that we had to borrow sweaters and jackets to stay outside to watch! Had been a nice day. He barbecued a meal and we ate outside. But, after that sun went down, it got cold real fast.
Very sunny today in the Oregon Willamette Valley. Very nice. Not to hot, that'll come later in the week. Supposed to get into high 80's, which is pushing it for hot as far as I'm concerned. It I wanted it to be hot, I'd have stayed in Phoenix. But, I didn't and I don't!
Its very wet over here in my part of the country. I'm from Calcutta, India. Monsoons have hit our country but the weather is quite sultry!
Weird. Last week the meteorology dept reminded us to prepare for La Nina. Then it started raining heavily. Yesterday on the radio we were asked to expect for heavy rainfall until Sept and magically the rain disappeared and the heat started hitting us eversince the announcement. I don't know who to trust anymore.

It got hot in the Willamette Valley in Oregon today. Over 110F! Very unusual to be that hot here. Usually summer weather doesn't even begin to happen before the 4th of July. Here it is only the 1st, and, already this hot. I've lived in Oregon since 1971, and only remember now 3 days of weather this hot. Think tomorrow I'll just sit in front of one of our fans.
Enjoying respite from north Texas heat, in Fort Worth it's 77 F and a littler cooler for a few days(yay!).
Unusually hot weather in Oregon. Well, we do usually get some hot weather, but, not usually for this long of a stretch of time. Believe it's something like over a month now of +90 degree temperatures with only a few days of respite from the heat.I know other places get this hot and hotter, but, for this long, it is unusual for Oregon. And, we haven't even started August yet.
Winter passed Houston by this year, which is unusual, even for us. Normally, we'll have at least a few days of what we call a "hard freeze" (below 32f), but in the city proper, we had only a few days of frost. None of my plants froze back. Everything is blooming and spring-like. Trust me, I'm not complaining! Our harsh season along the Gulf Coast is summer, which starts in early May and never ends.
Here on the Gulf Coast, where it's usually balmy and unbearable, it's actually nice today. I think our high is supposed to be 60 degrees. It's bright and sunny and should be all day. P.S. I live where you vacation! ;)
Here in north central Texas (70 minutes south of Fort Worth) we hit 78 degrees today. It's 72 right now. Very sunny and clear, though we have a chance for rain tomorrow. We had a mild winter, too. We got down in the 30s to 40s mostly.
In the Vegas Valley, it's warm enough for the desert tortoises to be out of hibernation. Why do I say that? I rescued one that found its way into my garage in November, placed it in a box filled with newspaper and covered it. A few days ago, I had one wide-awake and hungry tortoise….he's now in a tortoise habitat. So, to borrow from Shakespeare, "All's well that ends well."
Finally, Southern California got some good rain courtesy of the "Pineapple Express"! But it didn't last very long and now at nearly 11 a.m., its sunny and windy. But rain is forecast for tomorrow and Tuesday.
Here in North Carolina, it is sunny and 55 degrees. Supposed to get to the 70s later this week and the Camellias and Narcissus are blooming! And it's mating season for Barred Owls, so they are hooting all over the place :)

I opened the front door and there was this large, green turtle sitting there. He was rather confused and obviously lost. We figured we'd take him down to the Bosque River that runs through the edge of town. When we were about 100 yards or so from the river, the turtle stretched its surprisingly long neck and began looking around, very excited. We let him go about 20 yards from the river. I have never seen a turtle move that fast.
It's supposed to be above 0 celcius (32 farenheit) for the next two weeks up here in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. I'm hoping this means the end of freezing temperatures for the rest of the winter. Hopefully, it quickly melts the little bit of snow we still have hanging around too. Sunny days are coming.
My little patch of NZ has 25C, 80% humidity and just a few clouds scattered around a baby blue sky. All is well with my world *:D
Well, El Nino may have finally proven what it can do with Southern California. My husband got up this morning and started to complain 'where's the rain?' As soon as he stepped outside, the wind came out in full force, lightning struck and the deluge began. Didn't last long before the wind quit, and the rain settled into a steady patter. For us, this is huge! Looking at the weather map right now and my sister in law in Santa Barbara is getting a good dose, so we're probably going to get more. Rest of the week is to be sunny or partly cloudy ...
It's been overcast most of the day here with some mist. It's supposed to rain cats and dogs tomorrow. It's 69 degrees right now with a low of 63 degrees tonight. Spring is definitely here.
In Oregon's Willamette Valley, we had a bit of spring weather today. Tomorrow it's back to the rain, but, it was sunny and nice today. Temperature in the mid 50's(F) and no rain. Well, at least, not where I live. To paraphrase George R.R. Martin, Spring is coming.

In the 50's here lately which is a bit of a cool down, because we've been in the 70's. Suppose to be nice all this week though.

Won't the government do something about it? The global weather is a bit chaos nowadays isn't it? My place is having rains but some are in complete dry, and my country is not that big anyway.
Remember the pictures I posted before? Well currently it's mango season here in Malaysia. And almost every place with large enough soil actually planted at least one. I think I want to snap some pictures of it.
