I once used a pair of socks as bookmarks. I was in a hurry and I couldn't find any decent piece of paper within reach. It was that bad.

These days I often use price tags as bookmarks. They're quite sturdy, and they have strings attached to them :-)
I don't like folding the pages of my book kaya minsan kung ano na lang mahablot basta may bookmark. Hehehe.Bus tickets, pens, hair clips, pictures, panyo, ID, etc, etc. :)

pde bang malaman ang pin number ng atm card mo? then i'll steal your book with your atm card and your savings on it..hahaha! :D
question: would you rather lose your wallet or your favorite book? :D
bus ticketscandy wrappers
tissue (used or unused)
receipts
ribbons
yung mga straps for hanging (usually found sa mga damit ng girls)
Kung walang mahanap, tatandaan ko na lang ang page number.
Sa dami ng nagkalat na bookmarks sa bahay, ewan ko lang! Pero in dire needs tissue or receipts. Then I realized na pwede akong maglagay ng paperclip sa wallet for emergency.
I've used: scrap pieces of paper
Globe call cards
receipts
my driver's license
my phone
the reading lamp I got from eBay
Pantiliners (of course unused! LOL)receipts
newspapers
billing statements
deposit slips
ballpen
calculator
hanky
peso bills
sachet ng milo or 3-in-1
lighter, yosi
tooth pick? i was going to add that last night, i got lazy, napkin, the tissue paper ha...the laminated pictures anime charcters, or the game, yung 20 pesos that you can buy at Comic Alley...
@jorie: mawala n yung wallet ko wg lang yung libro ko, its hard to find a good book. besides my wallets only have old recipt in them.

I agree. :) pero masakit din kaya sa heart ang mawalan ng wallet..haha!
^masakit tlg kung may laman... in my case naman kc, hnd aq nag lalagy ng pera or id sa wallet, nadala aq when my sister's wallet got stolen. i do carry a wallet, aalis aq ng walng dalang bag, at wallet lng dala ko, or very small bag, enough to fit a pocketbook.
Lumang CD cover o 'yung CD mismo, price tags, yarn, brochures ng fastfood ('yung madalas iniaabot sa malls), face towel :))
calculator, ballpen, libro (book-to-book action), gunting, medyas, certificate, tissue (used and unused, lol) (─‿‿─)
Ang daming gumagamit ng tissue, used or unused. At saan naman ginamit ang mga used tissue? (Parang ayaw ko na manghiram ng books sa inyo hahaha! Yung tipong pag bukas mo ng book, may surprise na nag-aabang!) :-)
wahahahaha...skin k mg hirap malay mo jackpot yung libro n my nka ipit n atm ang mpahirm q..wahahaha

Eversince I've joined GR and attended meet ups, napuno ako ng maraming bookmarks and keychains, so lately, I always have a decent bookmark for my books!
Doc: I hardly use the bookmarks that I
Laging may extra eh. So I hoard another, one for my TFG memorabilia box and the other for practical use.
Hi! Makiki-comment :PBut to be on-topic: Any paper on hand! Cell phone. Panali sa buhok. Coins and bus tickets. Wig? (HAHA!) Importanteng papeles (NBI clearance, payslip, etc). Among others :P

Napaisip lang ako, yung pantiliner pagkatapos ginamit na bookmark, ginamit mo pa rin the way it is intended to be used?
I've also used origami-inspired bookmarks.(view spoiler)
And I am intrigued by this for its awesome utilitarian value:

At the right side of the comment box, may: (some html is ok) click mo lang yun then follow the commands.
I quite often use old tickets or boarding cards from flights. It is quite fun to work out where you read / bought the book in question from the bookmark. I guess that I wouldn't dare using old socks as a bookmark for inflight reading.......sorry Mark!
