I LOVE A Song of Ice and Fire, do you enjoy it? It's awesome, there are books I really love like Harry Potter and A Song of Ice and Fire falls under this category.

How's it sad? ... Ok, yes some parts are sad but I really like the hunger games series, so even though there are sad moments, I push past and look at all the positives :)

Starting Mystic (Soul Seekers, #3) by Alyson Noel soon.

message 111: by Nikita (new)

Nikita | 989 comments I thought it was really good and meaningful! I loved it, although I must admit, I was a bit bored at the start. But then it got interesting later on, and I did enjoy it :)

Starting Mystic tonight (definitely!), finished Mockingjay.

message 112: by Stormy (new)

Stormy :) (Stormy0218) | 843 comments Yes, the beginning is agonizingly slow. But once the trial starts it gets so good! I love all the symbolism in it! Harper Lees a genius!

Nikita | 989 comments Agreed!! I loved it, and I would definitely read it again. :)

I love Cinder! Prince Kai is one of my (many) book boyfriends. Tell me how The 5th Wave is. I may want to read it soon.

message 123: by Stormy (new)

Stormy :) (Stormy0218) | 843 comments @Dameika: The 5th Wave is great so far! My only complaint is that it is a bit confusing in the beginning. There are many different POVs, all are written with a distinctive voice, but Yancey doesn't distinguish who is narrating. You just kind of have to assume. Also, the romance moves a bit too quickly for my taste, even so, i still find the relationship, though still in early stages, very adorable. Aside from those few things this book is a great read and gets very addictive. Since 5th Wave has gotten so addictive I haven't been able to read further into Cinder, but the premise thus far is very interesting! I really like how Meyer is using the original Cinderella tale and twisting it a bit.

Marrie | 723 comments Mod
I hate insta-love :/ But if the romance is still cute, I can deal with it a bit easier. I still want to give The 5th Wave a chance, even if the naratian might be hard to follow. And I'm glad it's good other than that! :)
Yeah, Marissa Meyer's writing style and characters are just plain awesome. I need to reread Cinder and Scarlet before Cress comes out next year.

message 125: by Stormy (new)

Stormy :) (Stormy0218) | 843 comments Ikr! Insta-love is the worst. I have a firm belief that the relationship has to develop for awhile before they start making out or something. It's kinda understandable in the 5th Wave, these characters aren't sure if they'll live to see the next sunrise, probably the most plausible explanation, but it still bugs me.

Oh darn, yet another book I will probably be eagerly awaiting for!

message 126: by Rachel (new)

Rachel (rjscottie) Finished Fang moving on to Angel. (I go though Maximum ride way to fast.) :c I want to read Cinder but It's almost NEVER at my library.

I agree. When you really love someone you don't just look at them and go, "Oh my god, I love you." I mean, I get it when girls are like, "Oh, that guys pretty cute." because obviously that's how crushes start most of the time and that's how romance slowly builds. So I don't mind that but I hate it when that guy is suddenly their world out of no where because that's just not how love begins at all! And yup. It's okay. We can complain together xD

Stormy :) (Stormy0218) | 843 comments I didn't like City of Fallen Angels. Wait, no, correction. I loathed City of Fallen Angels. Ugh that book!!

@Damieka: Lol, I totally get what you're saying! Such a great message to send to teenage girls, when you see a totally hot guy, go stalk and make out with him!!! Yeah, no. Not realistic at all.

Marrie | 723 comments Mod
Haha, yup. That's basically the plot line of Twilight and Fallen xD

message 131: by Stormy (new)

I total agree. Look at Percabeth, they had a small crush on each other in the first book and in MoA they loved each other. They fell in love as they got to know each other better.personally I think that a relationship rushed probably won't turn out to good. Not that I can say much cause my mum and dad dated fr 6 weeks before getting engaged. They stayed engaged for a year and then got married and they've been together ever since. But I know that they knew each other for at least a month or two before the started dating.

Oh my god! Don't do it to yourself! It's so terrible that it makes Twilight look like the best YA romance on the planet.

message 134: by Stormy (new)

Stormy :) (Stormy0218) | 843 comments Percabeth is a good example of how romance should develop. There are those relationships where you feel the connection off that bat, but those are rare.

Ugh, but I spend $5 on Fallen. Eh, it's at the bottom of my list. Can't believe I bought it when I could've gotten something else!

I agree. I actually think Percabeth and Romione are my two favorite examples of how relationships should develop, because their feelings didn't just sprout of no where; they grew out of friendship.
I spent $10 on my copy of Fallen and wish I could get my money back! It's because of that book that I decided not to read very many other angel books as a whole. Of course, the book Unearthly kind of changed that since I loved that trilogy. But it took a while before I'd even pick up an angel book after that train wreck. I'd sell my book or give it away, but I don't want anyone else to experience the pain of reading it.
